@raven1066 @chrisorbach Additionally, Jerry Orbach’s genuine interactions w/non-actors in elevators (as posted in this thread), & stage, screen, & tv performances continue to enrich our lives via (live b’way) memories, movies, & tv. Let’s continue to celebrate our great #lullabyofbroadway, Jerry Orbach.
Hi Ben,
We do not know each other, which is unimportant. Familiar with your diagnosis, I am sending you and your family my prayers for recovery.
Two years ago this past August, my mother passed away. Two weeks later, my father called me and asked if I can visit and spend time with him. Thinking we would grieve together, I visited him 2-3 days later with clothes for a week or so. Unbeknownst to me, he was diagnosed with metastasized stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
I stayed with and cared for my father, drove him to and from his appointments, etc. While this period of time was difficult, there were many moments which brought us even closer. The gradual role-reversal of “caretaker” was understandably challenging for both of us.
Most nights before he fell asleep, I sat next to him on his bed, rubbed his back and shared with him variations of the following,
“Dad, even though we sometimes disagree
or argue, always remember that we still
love each other and I am here with you.
Good night. I love you, Dad.”
You demonstrate significant courage to create
and share your post. You are indeed a fortunate man, husband and father to have such full support of your family. Embrace and feel the love, prayers and support from your family, friends, colleagues, and (even) “strangers” like me.
Sincerely,
Lee Dash

With today being the last regular-season game in the original Beaver Stadium press box, it was great to celebrate and reflect on the memories. The press box will be removed as part of the Beaver Stadium Revitalization.
