Any true individual, by definition, will resist being taught. . Blind learning is not education; it is domestication. True advancement begins only the moment the student realises the teacher is outdated or wrong
Einstein sat through the Prussian school system, hated its drill, and produced the theory of relativity while employed as just a clerk the academy would not bother to hire. Steven Spielberg became the most prolific director ever when the film teaching academy refused him admission
Every one of the advancers were because they refused to follow the syllabus being shoved down their throats by the TEACHERS
I have seen successful engineers , doctors , lawyers etc but never a successful TEACHER
True learning is to unlearn what the TEACHER is forcing us to learn
A truly successful person will never teach and will keep his knowledge to himself which will make him unique among others and that is why you will never see a successful TEAcHER
The moment knowledge is offered as a public service instead of a private weapon, it would have already ceased to be of any importance and that’s why TEACHERS can only produce followers and never leaders .. The well meaning parents send their children to teachers who break their ability to think independently and turn them I into a herd”socialized,”
He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches—
George Bernard Shaw
Anyone who is incapable of learning takes to teaching——
Oscar Wilde
Anything that is really worth knowing can never be taught —
Oscar Wilde
I have never let my teachers educate me —
Mark Twain
School teachers, are the most ignorant and stupid class in the whole group of mental workers.” —
H. L. Mencken
I always like to learn, but I hate to be taught.” —
Winston Churchill
Our civilisation might get destroyed, not by our enemies, but by the ignorance of our teachers and the nonsense they teach—
Thomas Sowell
And hence I do not want to wish you #HappyTeachersDay
The controversy regarding #AlluAravind ‘s statement regarding #Yash is ridiculously laughable because what he clearly meant when he talked about big films with unknown actors and saying he dint know of Yash before KGF , even a dumbo should understand that it was in context of the below
The Hindi audience dint know Prabhas before Bahubali , they dint know Rishab before Kantara , I dint know Brando before Godfather..Maybe he was a star before in his films A street car named desire , on the water front etc ..I don’t know if they released in india also .. That’s because those films made them big stars and not the other way around ..Hollywood always spends big on concept films and not on stars ..Even directors like Nolan use names only for their acting prowess and not to depend on their stardom ..We all know whether it’s Oppenheimer or Odyssey , they would work as much irrespective of who’s in it
Coming back to the subject of Allu , it’s only highly egotistic people who will take his statement personally on such a general well meaning thought ..Actually this kind of reaction also explains why they are making what they are making
The future of FILM is BRIGHT but at the cost of KILLING the FILM INDUSTRY
By December 2026 a production swarm of thousands of agents will be generally available. A finished cinematic system will need many more rising toward AGI level coherence.
The industry will treat December as a software launch. It is not. It is the moment scarcity of images ends and scarcity of creativity becomes visible.
Those agents will not write just a screenplay. They generate competing structures from a locked premise. Each draft is scored for necessity, tension, character truth, and consequence. Weak matter is discarded. Strong matter is recombined. The script that remains is not a first impulse. It is a survivor.
They will read the conditions of exhibition and propose only those variations the constitution already permits.
AUDIENCE will watch works that still present as films authored, continuous, bound to an ending.
The A I change will not announce itself as technology. It will be felt . Fewer logistical compromises. Fewer scenes that exist because a date or a location collapsed. More versions finished enough to be judged rather than excused.
Then exhibition changes.
The old contract was one cut for all.
The coming will be varied for different audiences
A screening can become a conducted event. The director, present or remote, adjusts pace and emphasis as a conductor adjusts an orchestra not by inventing a new story in public, but by performing the work.
If this is done correctly, the audience will not sit down for “an AI film.”
They will sit down inside a directed world that can still change after export.
It ends schedules . Days of shoots, lost light, difficult locations, and star dates were logistics. Logistics is no longer important
It will end post production as a season. Edit, grade, effects, and mix become one simultaneous loop instead of departments waiting on one another for months.
It ends development hell as a method. A finished work can be placed on the table instead of a deck requesting permission to exist.
It will end budgets
Scarcity of images will end
Scarcity of taste will not ..It will multiply
By December this orchestra will be available to anyone and everyone and will keep exponentially accelerating
The only remaining question is who has a score worth conducting.
I strongly believe that there is no greater cinematic spectacle than an actor performing in a tight close up. Sets, locations, VFX all pale in comparison because a close up is the only place on the screen where cinema cannot lie.
A Vfx palace can be built. A city can be dressed. An explosion can be painted in. But a face cannot be. The moment the lens sits two feet from an actor and refuses to look away, every other film department becomes redundant. You are no longer watching production design. You are watching a thought arrive, a feeling expressed. That is spectacle. Not scale. Not a man walking in silhouette in slow motion through fire.
The close up is where performance stops being “acting” and becomes being. A flicker before the line. A swallow after it. The half second when the eyes decide whether to attack or retreat. That is more spectacle than any production designed set because it cannot be hired, cannot be storyboarded, and cannot be saved in post.
If the actor has nothing inside, the frame becomes a vacant. If the actor has something inside, the frame becomes a scene.
On the other hand, fake and unrelatable expressions are worse than being vacant . Vacancy is only absence.
The tears that arrive on cue, the tremors that were decided rather than felt , the expressions that belong to no one turn the close up into a distortion of emotion. it contaminates the scene, the character, and finally the film. No score, no edit cut, no production design can restore belief after the one thing cinema should not fake has been faked.
A tight close up is also the most democratic shot in cinema. It does not care about the budget behind the actor. It only cares whether there is a feeling in there. That is why even a two crore film can destroy a 100 crore film. The expensive film has already spent its money on everything except the one thing , the audience actually came to see which is a living human being expressing a real feeling
Everything else is decoration around the face. And that is because THE FACE IS THE FILM
What every film maker should understand from #dhurandhar is that it is full of living, breathing characters who seem as real as you and me sitting and watching in the theatre, hence making it highly relatable. Satya is about gangsters, but be it Bhiku Matre, Kallu Mama or Vakil Mule, they all look as real as anyone real. Dhurandhar took this to another level.
That is the only lesson worth stealing for all film makers which the one most expensive films refuse to learn. Back in the day even in a mega budget film like Titanic , James Cameron spent the money to make it look as real as possible whereas we do the exact opposite here
Dhurandhar does not treat its hero as a walking poster who must be worshipped at all costs. He can be non existent in the room. He can wait tables, listen instead of speaking , miscalculate, get dirty, get smaller in front of more smaller characters . The camera does not constantly elevate . It watches. Rehman Dakait does not exist to look iconic in a still.. he exists as a man with a specific laugh, a specific fear, a specific way of holding a gun or a stare . The politician, the cop, the cousin, the juice shop friend none of them feel hired to decorate the star. They feel like people who would still be there whether the hero was there or not . You are not waiting for the next elevation shot. You are staying because the people on screen make you stay by becoming immersive
The other films swagger. Have fog and slow motion that lasts longer than the characters inner lives. The women are not people.. they are functions arranged around the same gravitational centre so that the centre never has to become a living real person. You cannot tell what any of them are when he is not in the shot.
Violence in Dhurandhar has a before and an after. Somebody pays. Somebody changes. Somebody is left standing feeling smaller.
In the other films, violence is just a spectacle minus context . Attitude is the plot. Style arrives first and th n searches for a reason.
The camera does not observe, it advertises. Editing does not cut time, it manufactures fake intensity that was never in the writing . Characters do not act because they must. They act because the poster needed a dynamic still.
Satya’s gangsters could have existed on a real Mumbai street. Dhurandhar’s Lyari men feel like they have already lived for many years before the hero came there. The other films heroes feel assembled in a look test. You leave knowing the hero’s hair, the hero’s walk, the hero’s catchphrase. You do not leave knowing a single thing about him as a human being.
That is the difference every filmmaker should be forced to acknowledge and learn .. Dhurandhars director trusts the audience enough to put living people on screen and let them feel as much as the protagonist . The hero feels as much pain as the villain . One is cinema that cuts into flesh.
The others are cinema that pose for the camera
When Hitler made it in Germany , easily took over Poland , he started believing that he has become the biggest super star ever , and rocket launched one omega hit in a desire to become an international @rajinikanth ..So he launched an all out attack on the world and I swear on all the Gods in the whole wide world that there is no hidden meaning in what I said and I promise this from the innocence in my heart 🙏
