On this day 📆
In 1888, Burnley, alongside eleven other clubs, were part of the group which formed the English Football League. 🙌

Years of studying and practicing economics at the pointiest possible end... where you simply cannot make money without having elite capability... compressed into ~30 minutes of clear, simple, and plain English. Well done (again) to @garyseconomics

NEW 🧵: Is human intelligence starting to decline?
Recent results from major international tests show that the average person’s capacity to process information, use reasoning and solve novel problems has been falling since around the mid 2010s.
What should we make of this?
He might actually have a point @garyseconomics... not sure there'll be many models floating about that'll be able to test it unfortunately!? 😂

@WarrenBuffett agrees with @garyseconomics... and it seems this video might be approaching 20 years old!? Seems he had some concerns about extreme wealth inequality back in 2007. What must he think about where it's at now in 2025?

How do you start with nothing and go from Builders' labourer to building the first new high street bank for over 150 years in Britain, and then Hollywood turns up, not just once but twice @Netflix#BankofDave2
If a lad from Burnley who sells buses can make it happen you can too!
11g of ground coffee beans, 180ml of milk, 27ml of vanilla syrup... my very fancy coffee at home just cost £0.72 (before carefully allocating the cost of the coffee machine and the burst of electricity needed to run it). 🤣💪
I can’t believe the amount of Deadpool & Wolvie costumes last night. You’ll never know what that’s like if you’re me. I’m five years old, staring out the window at some impossible future. People made mini movies and wore some of the best suits I’ve ever seen. Quoting lines, and performing stunts. Little KidPools to GeezerPools… I’m not aloof or cool about stuff like this — No part of me takes it for granted or feels entitled to it. It’s like having a dream come true — but a dream you didn’t know you were dreaming of.
26 years ago, I was made redundant and given a few grand. I decided that if I was careful, I could live off the money for 6 months trying to become a comedian before I had to get another job. I was 37. Worth a punt.
