Most people would hesitate to marry if divorce were almost impossible.
Hiring works the same way.
Make it brutally hard to let someone go, and business owners become afraid to take a chance on them.
Worker protection can turn into worker exclusion very quickly.
Young Australians should be enraged by the new super tax.
The statist talking heads will tell you "it's only on balances above $3M. The rich." Most Aussies will fall for it.
Run the numbers. 35yo today. $200k in super. Contributes $15k a year. Earns 8% returns (long run super average).
In 30 years their balance is $3.7 million. Caught by the tax.
But here's the trick. Australia's money supply has grown about 8% a year for the past two decades. RBA's own data. So that $3.7M buys what $369k buys today. Same groceries. Same house. Same petrol.
You didn't get rich. You ran on the spot.
And the $3M line? Frozen. In 30 years it only buys what $300k buys today. It's lost 90% of its real value. The govt doesn't have to move the line. Inflation does the work for them.
No different from the obscene overreach on anti-money laundering rules. The $10k cash transaction threshold was set in 1988 and never moved. $10k then is $26k in today's money. Adjusted for money supply growth, it's $170k. Same threshold. Almost 3x more transactions caught by CPI, 17x by money supply. That's why you get interrogated at the bank for withdrawing what only covers half a year of school fees.
Same trick with income tax. Wages rise with inflation. Brackets don't. Suddenly the average worker is in a "high earner" bracket they were never meant to be in. You don't earn more. The line moved.
This one policy tells you everything you need to know about the government and its intentions. It's all about grift and theft.
Meanwhile, the kids who get hit hardest are kept busy by an education system arguing about hate speech, social media, and the climate apocalypse promised in 2012. Nobody teaches them how money actually works. The govt likes it that way.
So they vote for more taxes. Bigger govt. More "fairness." Pouring petrol on the fire burning their house down.
The fix isn't communism. It's the opposite.
Smaller govt. Lower taxes. Index every threshold to the actual money supply, not the CPI lie. Decentralise the banks.
Despite everything, Australians are entrepreneurial and predominantly hardworking. Imagine what this country could become without the government's boot on its neck.
The average American today lives better than John D. Rockefeller did in 1926. That is not an exaggeration. It is a fact.
Rockefeller could not fly across the country in five hours. You can for $200. He could not video call his family from another continent. You do it for free. He had no antibiotics, no MRI, no air conditioning in July. He could not carry every book ever written in his pocket. You are reading this on a device that does all of that and more.
Americans throw away 30-40% of their food. Not because they are wasteful, but because food is so abundant that waste is affordable. Your car has climate control, navigation, and safety systems that did not exist at any price a century ago. Your home has heating, cooling, refrigeration, and entertainment that emperors could not have imagined.
None of this was voted into existence. None of it was redistributed from the rich. It was created by free minds operating in what remains of a free market. Every comfort you enjoy today is the product of a man who thought, invented, produced, and traded voluntarily.
This is what the remnants of capitalism still deliver, even while it is being dismantled. Imagine what a fully free society could build.
Singapore was colonized. Botswana was colonized. South Korea was colonized AND destroyed by war.
They’re all doing well now.
Ethiopia was never colonized. Thailand was never colonized. Neither is automatically rich because of it.
History matters.
But what your institutions look like today matters more than what happened 60 years ago.
Countries that enabled economic freedom and property rights prospered.
Countries that didn’t stayed poor.
It’s so fucking funny that lefties all legitimately believe that I should be crushed with a $24,000 fine simply for holding a blank sign.
It’s actually pure friend-enemy distinction, you cannot even invent a more pure example.
I’m their political enemy so they just want me to suffer. There’s nothing more to their entire political worldview than this.

Lovers of big government trash capitalism.
But @conceptualjames points out that capitalism CREATES wealth.
So why don’t they like it?
"It requires people to be free,” explains Lindsay, “you can't control people who are free.”

I'm gonna lose my YouTube account because my kids like Paw Patrol?
Meaning that I have to log the TV put of my paid YT account so my kids can watch it without me getting banned, and now all of sudden my kids will be exposed to ads, many of which are not appropriate for their age?
***slow clap*** @eSafetyOffice you've proved once again that Government makes everything worse.
I thought australian values included "fairness" - how is 20% off current student debt (a free cheque for select australians who are likely to earn more over their lifetime) fair? #Auspol And people are okay with this? What happened to fairness for ALL australians?
Socialism is when you take £10,000 from one productive person who works & give £1,000 to 10 people who do not work, and then blame the one productive person for all the country’s problems so the 10 people will vote for you
Then the productive people leave & the system implodes on itself
We created this graph to highlight just how costly Net Zero has been to our energy grid.
Since we adopted the target, household electricity prices have risen by roughly 39%.
Labor have tried to hide this with temporary relief measures such as the national Energy Bill Relief fund; however, the underlying cost of producing and delivering power continues to climb.
Labor also promised that its net zero plans would reduce power bills by $275 per year, but with households paying up to $800 more, Labor’s promises have been missed by around $1000 per Australian household per year.
And following the announcement of its new 2035 emissions targets (62-70% below 2005 levels by 2035), Labor has refused to promise any reduction in energy bills.
Why?
Because they know that Net Zero doesn’t make energy cheaper. The numbers don't lie. Net zero only works to make energy scarcer, more unreliable, and more expensive for everyone.
They tell on themselves constantly when they say women who stand up for women’s rights look like men. It’s the new ‘I never met a pretty feminist.’ Like every other dangerous virus, misogyny mutates to survive.
Here’s how it actually works:
An African entrepreneur wants to open a bakery as a legal business.
She needs twelve permits. Different offices. Each costs money. Each takes months.
She finally gets them - six months after and most of her savings gone.
Now come the taxes: business registration fees, income tax advances, value-added tax, local levies, and endless compliance costs. She’s paying before she’s sold a single loaf.
Let’s say she survives that, and now wants to hire people.
Here’s where it breaks.
The labor laws make it nearly impossible to fire anyone. Doesn’t matter if they steal. Doesn’t matter if they don’t show up. You hire someone, you’re stuck with them forever.
So she doesn’t hire anyone. Too risky. One bad employee bankrupts her.
If she has some money, she leaves. Opens the bakery in Dubai instead.
If she doesn’t? The business dies.
Either way - those jobs never exist.
Now there’s a 22-year-old guy who could’ve been the cashier at that bakery.
But that job’s gone.
So this 22-year-old pays a smuggler $1,000. Gets packed into a truck with 40 others across the Sahara to Libya.
In Libya, he gets captured. Sold in an open-air slave market for $400. In 2025.
Or he pays another smuggler for a spot on a tiny little fishing boat. Built for 50 people, but they cram in 140.
Halfway across, it sinks. Most of them never make it.
Or he hides in a plane’s landing gear. Freezes to death at 35,000 feet. His body falls onto the runway in Paris.
Why?
Because those “worker protection” laws protected him out of a job. Because those “reasonable regulations” killed the bakery that would’ve hired him.
The permit office is in one country.
The body is in the Mediterranean.
Science writer @JonEntine noticed something about environmental groups.
"The only way they can talk about environmental issues is to frame it with hysteria!" he says.
Why?
“Hysteria generates donations.”
And their hysteria is full of lies.
More here:
Media are outraged that Florida will remove vaccine mandates.
Not me. Government should not force anyone to put anything into their bodies. Parents should get to decide.
Parents SHOULD vaccinate, because vaccines work:
Albanese is a classic socialist.
He lives like a king 🤴
Enriching himself with money taken from the poor.
And justifies it with his 'housing commission boy' sob story.
He is not a housing commission boy.
