#Gaza:
"UN Secretary-General strongly appeals for the ceasefire to be respected." - @UNGeneva
"This nightmare must end immediately."
- @UNHumanRights
"Medical facilities are overwhelmed – by the number of patients and by the pressure on dwindling supplies."
- @ifrc
With education and essential services at risk, the future of thousands of #PalestineRefugees remains uncertain.
"We would sacrifice a generation of kids, who would be deprived from proper education." – @UNLazzarini told @AFP.

People in #Gaza need shelter from the cold and harsh winter weather.
To meet this need, UNRWA is distributing tents to displaced families across Gaza. The destruction is immense and UNRWA remains committed to supporting those in need.

Nearly 40,000 Palestine Refugees have been forcibly displaced from the northern #WestBank as Israeli military operations escalate at an alarming rate.
Since 21 January, Israeli Forces’ Operation "Iron Wall" has nearly emptied several refugee camps, making it the longest military operation in the West Bank since the second intifada.

In #Gaza, 80% of households have at least one child going without food. Over 96% of children and pregnant/breastfeeding women aren’t getting enough nutrition, @UNICEF reported in November.
Relief through a #CeasefireNow and a standard flow of basic supplies.
Even in the darkest days, I’ve seen hope power change.
There are no guarantees for what’s ahead in 2025.
But I pledge to stand with all those who are working to forge a more peaceful, equal, stable and healthy future for all people.
There is no alternative to @UNRWA in #Gaza, where over 2 million people rely on humanitarian aid.
Since the war began, UNRWA has:
- Distributed flour to around 1.9 million people
- Provided over 6.1 million primary healthcare consultations
- Reached over 510,000 children with psychosocial support

“I wish God hadn’t made me a girl, for we’ve become so unfortunate. I regret being born a girl; we are valued less than animals, who enjoy more freedom than we do,” says an Afghan girl living under the Taliban.
#Lebanon: There was a huge series of blasts and bombardments last night in densely populated areas in South #Beirut. The situation is chaotic.
Thousands of people, including our colleagues, had to flee their homes in the dark with nothing, some fled on foot. Over 500 schools are full. People slept in cars on the streets. Hospitals are overwhelmed with the wounded.
Our teams are working around the clock to deliver water, hygiene kits, and blankets. So far, they have delivered 400 kits of basic relief items. We are also offering psychological first aid, while continuing to assess people's needs.
As the Israeli bombardment campaign of Lebanon continues, we reiterate our call that civilians and healthcare workers must be protected.
I’m gravely concerned by the dramatic escalation of events in Beirut in the last 24 hours.
This cycle of violence must stop now.
All sides must step back from the brink.
The people of Lebanon, the people of Israel, as well as the wider region, cannot afford an all-out war.
Last night I urged the Security Council to work in lock-step to help de-escalate the situation in Israel and Lebanon.
An all-out war must be avoided at all costs. It would surely be an all-out catastrophe.
🔹558 people including 50 children have been reportedly killed following the escalation of the conflict in #Lebanon
🔹Around 200,000 people have been displaced between October 2023 & 24 September
🔹As of 25 September, 490 people have sought refuge in 3 @UNRWA emergency shelters

This @UNRWA water well in Khan Younis #Gaza was completely destroyed by ongoing military operations just a few months ago
Today, it has become the largest source of drinking water for displaced families in the area after @UNRWA teams worked tirelessly to repair it during the war
People in #Gaza are constantly displaced, living in tents under the scorching summer sun with minimal access to drinking water.
The shortage of fuel and clean water causes a complete lack of sanitation and hygiene, favoring the spread of diseases. Gaza needs a #CeasefireNow
The solid waste management system in the #GazaStrip has collapsed, says @UNDP. There’s no access to major landfills & waste accumulates around living areas
This poses huge threats to health & the environment, fuelling a rise in diseases such as diarrhea and respiratory illnesses
