@j_fishback So starting out the gate with expensive education policies already shown to have no bearing on learning outcomes and some negative outcomes on psychological health.

Is it too much that people get evidence led education policies and no vibes based ones?
@ChrisBeldam@lanevoviii@DrLukeCraddock I get it. I have similar repayments, though thankfully plan 1 so interest is 3.2%.
I don’t think many people will care about our loans not being a priority after getting our savings back post house purchase…
The variable rate of plan 2 is egregious.
@redgolf99@DrLukeCraddock You do realise that the interest goes up with salary?
It was written and taken out when rates were 1%, now a doctor will likely have an interest rate of 7.3% on over £100k principle.
@DrLukeCraddock I still have a loan. I’m not sure anything is “coming to light”. It was obviously that if you went the full distance post grad etc the loans would likely not be paid in the write off time u less you top up the payment.
The interest rate cliff in plan 2 is egregious though.
Please just take my beloved Star Trek behind the shed and put it out of its misery.
I’m begging you Paramount.
The political intrigue and moral quandaries of who is dating whom in the academy… Remember when Trek inspired a whole generation of scientists and engineers? I do.
@DanielJHannan Or, what we are seeing is someone who has put a mutimodal LLM onto a public messaging platform that has been explicitly trained to be edgy with little guardrails, being told no.
Which other model puts generated underwear imagery as replies inline with other public comments?
@RepFine@realDonaldTrump Why did you guys close all but one of the bases you had there then? If it’s really under threat NATO would put assets there with a simple phone call.
You have been hoodwinked. Useful idiot.
@pandopando72263 @daz_75@DrLukeCraddock@MartinSLewis Sort of. While it’s back down to 3.2%, it has been as high as 7.5% in recent years since its RPI. You can’t inflate this away like other loans.
If he earns more than 50k the interest will rise to RPI+3%, which effectively rules out paying it off without massive “overpayment”.
@ContractorCalc@DrLukeCraddock The interest on the loan is linked to post study income. There is a stupid cliff edge introduced at £51k where the loan interest gets another 3% added.
@RupertLowe10@elonmusk@JDVance A current MP urging a foreign power to intervene with any “appropriate power” to affect policy change that you disagree with ought to be cause to remove you from parliament.
Resign you contemptible man.
@JeffCampsInMN@sher_db@martinferr23356@jonfavs If she wanted to flatten that guy he’d be flat. She clearly turned to avoid.
Stop this divisive nonsense before it truly gets away from you eh?
@TrueAIHound Way too strong an assertion.
Generalisation hasn’t been ruled out; capabilities unlikely to be mere interpolation.
Online learning hard for any feasible ML system. No magic bullet on the horizon for that.
