By way of closure on last week’s foray into local democracy as an independent for Leith, I ended up 5th out of 8 candidates, with 370 first preference votes, increased to 512 after the STV system did its peculiar shuffle (I majored in philosophy not psephology)

Another way to look at the results is to note that of the 947 democracy die-hards (I confess I was one of them) who opted to rank all 8 candidates in order of preference, fully 27 of them placed me stone cold last, their 8th and least favourite option on the whole list!

@LeithLtn In the meantime the detail of both LTN and CPZ could be reviewed, and the locally depleted bus network should be prioritised in how the integrated public transport system will function in and around the LTN once tram is ready to roll. 2/2

@LeithLtn Yes, my point is about the timing of the introduction of LTN/CPZ, which I think should be more closely aligned with the tram's completion. Tram is due to start next spring, but is that realistic? 1/2

@oculusaye @Ian_Fraser @GJMunro26 Very much so, and I'm sure Gordon will again lend his weight to the wheel once free from the chamber! Shocking - if all too typical - the way the council tried to drive through 'Option 4' at committee last Tuesday with no notice or wider consultation.

Huge further disruption across our area is not what we need as we go into next winter, with the tram still six months at least short of completion, and a much reduced bus service. No thanks!

Are you aware that Edinburgh city council plans to introduce a low traffic neighbourhood and controlled parking zone across Leith this September? Well before the tram is ready to roll. Many of us think these schemes should be paused and reviewed. #leith #tram
