@microsoft, research @stanford, ug @pitzercollege. atm: not building, but keen to chat
everyone is benchmarking fable 5 wrong
the story isn't that anthropic shipped the best coding model in the world. it's that they built something so capable they won't release the real thing
mythos 5 is locked behind a trusted access program. ask fable a cybersecurity question and it silently
reroutes you to an older model. the public version is, by design, the nerfed one
we used to ask what models can do
the question now is what they'll let them do
Releasing a model this capable comes with risks. Without safeguards, Fable 5’s capabilities in areas like cybersecurity could be misused to cause serious damage.
Queries on a narrow range of topics will instead receive a response from our next-most-capable model, Opus 4.8.
@ArtcVernacular@IntCyberDigest It would be costly to do the MRI and stuff so I bet it’s an extension or some kind of like fork of the open source repo or something
april 2020: traders paid people to take their oil because storage cost more than the oil was worth.
2026: students pay founders to take their labor.
same trade.
Fair point, you're right. I was using “outsider” a bit too loosely there. Adam clearly had real musical instincts and experience by the time he made Fireflies. The basement story is still magical to me though (zero engineering training + a $500 synth = diamond record is wild), but the term “outsider artist” has a more specific meaning.
@doof_tram i think listerners, myself included, became attached to his early viral discography, but after Warlord and Stranger, most of his studio album discography, if you count the Jonatan Leandoer stuff, has moved toward a more sung, theatrical, less straightforwardly rap direction.
the song isn’t extremely good, especially if you expect a certain kind of sound from lean, but for any artist, i thought it sounded kind of great if not outright great. bladee is probably the one who still sometimes releases songs that haven’t deviated as much from his older sound.
@dhillonpost@om_patel5 I don’t tink so if it’s between pages. You have to ensure it copies the js behind a particular animation. CSS animations and transformations, usually it does.
correction/expansion on this:
1. download SingleFile (chrome extension)
2. ask claude to split into standard folder structure (html, css, fonts) exact css, no changes (you can skip this, but sometimes the files are like 1.8mb because it contains images, fonts, and it increases the context size for the llm during possibly a conversation with many chats, so modularity avoids this)
3. feed claude: the inspiration html+css AND your html
4. ask it to map the inspiration's exact classes + fonts to your html where suitable
5. for any classes without a direct parallel ask it to interpret the design style and handle them
use claude for this specifically. i've tried other models (including some sota) and they either silently modify the css, make questionable design calls, or just fail to apply it right. claude respects the source and reasons about design intent better than anything else i've tried.

@om_patel5 i just use a chrome extension called single file then ask it to organize the downloaded site, and separate it into css, html, font files etc.
@aakashgupta this is why i love outsider artists so much, they usually use existing methods in interesting and new ways, and they're very determined to make a good song despite their lack of technical ability.
