Palestinians have been fired at by Israeli soldiers and settlers while trying to begin the olive harvest in the occupied West Bank.
Farmers and activists arrived to the annual harvest in the town of Beita and were met with tear gas and moved away from the groves.
According to the UN, nearly 2,000 Palestinians have been injured and more than 80 killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the West Bank since the beginning of this year.
Israel’s army said it had sent soldiers to the area to disperse a ‘confrontation’ and that no one was injured.
Olive season is typically a time of high tension between Palestinian farmers and Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank.

@andyburnham@FranceskAlbs Check out bbc podcast Israeli settlers attack West Bank village. I was shocked by the report and still we stand and look and listen with no sanction or actions.

The Strikes: Two successive missile strikes—believed to be fired from an Israeli drone—hit the vehicles. The first strike hit ambulance 777 directly through the middle of its roof, and a second strike hit ambulance 782 a few minutes later.
@QudsNen About 20 years ago, there was a similar picture of a Red Cross ambulance being shot in the roof in Lebanon by a similar airstrike on the BBC website!

Independent human rights expert @FranceskAlbs:
"The ongoing removal, crushing and relocation of rubble in #Gaza must not destroy evidence of international crimes or prevent the recovery and identification of human remains.
Destroying evidence of atrocity crimes is illegal."
@georgegalloway@MarkRuffalo@FranceskAlbs You are the voices of reason! Is that what one does? Is it moral? Is it legal? Would you do this to 60-70-year-old olive trees on your own land?
The MOST IMMORAL ARMY strikes again. And again. And again.
In the West Bank, soldiers and settlers cut water pipes, while Qusra's siege continues.
In Gaza the pulverization continues and so the massacres.Since the ceasefire Israel has killed 1,200+ people, including 300 children.
@10DowningStreet Very little just words on paper!
@andyburnham If this is serious, stop supplying weapons that enable and support this expansion. And if there are no sanctions or meaningful consequences, what incentive is there to change course?

@FranceskAlbs We were taught to remember history so future generations wouldn’t repeat its hatred, dehumanization and injustice.
“Never again” must mean never again for everyone. Human rights are universal or they mean nothing.

@AbujomaaGaza You want people to know, so you hit the like button. I don’t think the like button is appropriate here, as I don’t like to hear about death and misery.
@FIFAcom@FIFAWorldCup In what world is this "neutrality" from FIFA? An all-Argentine officiating crew for the France vs. Morocco quarter-final is a massive oversight in optics. If this is the new standard, I assume we’ll be seeing French referees for the next Argentina match, right? 🙄⚽️
