We’re hiring! 🚀 Are you passionate about neuroimaging, MRI, brain charts, or genetics? 📊🧠
Join our research team at the Neuroimaging Lab, University of Seville, and work on "Resil-net: Resilience and vulnerability—from neural circuits to networks". 🌐✨
⚡️New #preprint alert ⚡️
We show that #brain aberrations are highly heterogeneous after #preterm birth, and that there are consistent biological mechanisms and social environmental influences shaping these aberrations.

Absolutely delighted to see our review of structural MRI brain similarity networks out! The culmination of months of exciting conversations with co-first author @isaac_sebenius and the stellar team of @Aaron_A_B, @jakob_seidlitz, @Sarah_Morgan_UK and Ed Bullmore!
If you'd like to join us, we're recruiting a #PhD student to start Oct 24. The successful student will work on extending MIND- our new method to construct structural brain networks from #MRI (Sebenius et al., Nature Neuroscience 2023)- to study perinatal development (2/3)
Fully funded PhD opportunities in my group!
You will have the opportunity to explore how brain structure is altered in psychosis and neurodevelopmental disorders using neuroimaging.

I'm excited to share our preprint exploring the "Molecular and micro-architectural mapping of abnormal gray matter developmental trajectories in psychosis". 🧠🧪

Had a wonderful in Zurich this weekend, after the @brainfoodPM team invited me to give a talk on working with large-scale aggregated MRI data. Thanks for having me - this weekend was a reminder of how wonderful mainland Europe is.
My home town @GoettingenStadt has a wonderful tradition: doctoral graduates are meant to kiss and hand flowers to the city landmark, a statue of a girl on a fountain on the market square. Having finished my PhD @Cambridge_Uni, today my parents took me to complete the task.
Our latest global effort (led by twitterles Varun Warrier from @psychiatry_ucam and @CambPsych ) to map the genetic architecture of the human 🧠 is now live! Massive thank you to all co-authors!! https://t.co/ZK5dGtl92a
Still not sure I believe it's over, but I just submitted my hardbound PhD thesis @Cambridge_Uni last week. Thanks to my examiners @matildevaghi and @estamatakis, who, after a rather chaotic last-minute change in viva date, let me defend online from Islamabad, Pakistan.
Super cool work by @eva_stauffer investigating the genetic relationship between brain structure and schizophrenia is available as a preprint now. Check out Eva's tweet for a summary 🧵
@rogierK OATS - https://t.co/nplAKb8HOI; QTIM (careful, to the best of my knowledge they haven't published the actual zygosity info yet. https://t.co/XnlXu8u731; QTAB - https://t.co/b4AhiavhVW.
‼️PhD positions available‼️ Please share/RT.
2⃣ PhD positions open in my lab!
Neuro/fMRI -- https://t.co/MO2kKbnHtd
Quant. Biology/Omics -- https://t.co/w1gXY7T2pg
Great data, great science, great team (@biofinder_study) and great fun. A quick thread about the positions: 1/5
I've been speaking to PhD candidates about the struggle to maintain a decent standard of living on stipend rates - well below minimum wage, because they're considered students, not workers. Particularly tough in this economy https://t.co/65MQnUnsX8
