The way many on tennis twitter talk about Ukrainian players in the context of the war is utterly insane/horrible. Differences of opinion are one thing, but the total lack of empathy & ability to understand why the Ukrainian players feel and say what they do is baffling/disgusting
Bin selber Ossi. Habe in einem verkommenen Produktionsbetrieb gelernt. Kohlen geschleppt.
During russia's attack on Kyiv on June 2, Veronika, a mother of two was killed while running with her children to a shelter.
Her sons, aged 2 and 4, were taken to Okhmatdyt children's hospital. The older boy suffered severe bruising and a hematoma. The younger one sustained much more serious injuries: an explosive fracture of his left elbow, multiple wounds to his face and body, and shrapnel embedded in his soft tissues.
The mother did everything she could to save her children. She did not survive. 💔 Everyone who supports russia has our blood on their hands.

Teaching my toddler before bedtime where her home, Ukraine, is on the map minutes after packing a fresh emergency bag because we will get bombed tonight. Our lives are absurd.
Forcing Ukrainian athletes to listen to Russian anthem and having Russian flag waved at them while Russia bombs their homes & kills their friends under that same flag is not about equal opportunity. It's torture.
International Gymnastics Federation is disgusting for allowing this
💔 Russia is a terrorist state, one murdering civilians with missiles with impunity as the richest nations with the most powerful military forces in the world right next door choose every day not to stop it.
A cynical Russian drone strike targeted an ordinary residential building in Kryvyi Rih, with no military purpose whatsoever. As of now, two older people have been reported killed. Their 9-month-old granddaughter is in hospital with serious injuries. Our doctors are doing everything they can to save her life.
After the end of the three-day partial ceasefire, Russia continues to kill and maim Ukrainians. So pressure on Russia must not be eased in any way. Only firm joint pressure and the strengthening of Ukraine, including the reinforcement of our air defense, can compel the aggressor to diplomacy for a reliable peace and an end to the killings.
Let’s do a honest break down what President Trump said on the Kurds:
▪️He said he’s “disappointed” in the Kurds.
If we’re being honest, Kurds were recently disappointed as of January of 2026 in the administration’s decision to legitimize Jolani in Syria. Jolani was a wanted jihadist with a $10,000,000 bounty by the U.S. on his head. But thanks to the actions of our ambassador to Turkey, Barrack, who advanced Turkey’s interest in Syria by not providing accurate information to the President, he was made President of Syria. We ultimately chose Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia over the Kurds who fought alongside our service members.
Kurds were not going to allow themselves to be betrayed again, especially two months after they were undermined and betrayed in Syria.
▪️He said Kurds “take take take.”
Kurds never take. When kurds receive anything from the U.S., it’s because U.S. needs them as a key ally in the region, for a battle, against an enemy, for an upcoming war, whatever it may be. Kurds also receive basic weapons as it is the U.S. long standing policy to not undermine the central government’s they reside in.
▪️“They have a great reputation in congress.”
They do, very true. Why? Because Congressional members visit and speak with the Kurds directly. They speak with the people and communities the Kurds have saved and sacrificed for, like ethnic and religious minorities. They saw first hand how it was the Kurds not Syria, Turkey, Iraq or Iran that protected U.S. service members during the Iraq war.
I don’t expect Congress to have a great view of Iraq, Iran, Syria or Turkey because they are not on our side. That’s the simple truth.
▪️“They fight hard when they get paid.”
Of course. Kurds don’t have a state, they need weapons if they need to fight ISIS, al Qaeda and all the other radical Islamists in the region. Paying them to cover the basics is part of the deal we have with them. Kurds in Syria and Iraq are often the first line of defense—they lost 15,000+ lives in the fight against ISIS.
Turkey helped ISIS directly yet were trying to give them F-35 jets. Why aren’t we holding Turkey to the same degree of accountability as we are to the stateless Kurds?
We lost thousands of Americans during the Iraq War, spent trillions to help Iraqis, invested with advanced weapons and institution building and so much more yet they still take orders from Tehran—where’s the accountability? Why are we picking on the Kurds who had our back in Iraq? Where zero American lives were lost during the war in the autonomous Kurdistan Region.
I believe President Trump is once again receiving false information on the Kurds just like he did during Trump 1.0 when Erdogan visited the White House and quickly after that the U.S. tried to withdraw from Syria in 2019, just like in January 2026 in Syria and again here with Iran.
Don’t forget, the Kurds are non-state actors. Treating them as if they have total sovereignty is unfair. These accusations against the Kurds, a key ally of the United States, puts the Kurds in a very dangerous position.
@realDonaldTrump@POTUS I’m happy to provide you and your time with honest information on the Kurds, because whoever is talking to you about the Kurds clearly hates the Kurds and wants to see the U.S.-Kurdish alliance totally destroyed.

In the game of life, Alex Zanardi left nothing in the tank. I remember when he asked me to write the foreword for his book. I asked him anything you want me to say? He said: Well, I need to order new legs- how tall do you think I should be?
