1. adding salt🧂& pepper🌶️ to sensitive data before hashing is helpful.

some companies rotate the salts 1-2 days to add more protection

5. how does this enhance user privacy?

a. hackers now need to tap yet another data source - the cache.

b. even if they get all the things they need to get user PII, they’d only get session data for a session that ended in the last 30 minutes.
