@geerlingguy@floatplanemedia@luke_lafr@LinusTech Man i really wanted floatplane to be good but im oldschool and individual subscriptions per channel... nah cant do that... too many subacriptions already to add 5 or six more...
@geerlingguy@fever_soft I love my bambu a1 mini, but yeah it went into lan mode yesterday and installed orcaslicer same, as it was always on a iot vlan, that had its own challanges as the discovery mechanism is sspd based which is beyond me why I could not just point to a static ip.
@geerlingguy Been rocking a mini rack for years, its the best investment for a homelab. A few NUCs, some raspberry pis, Proxmox and some decent network equipment like Ubiquiti or Unifi and of to the races. Then Docker the rest.
@vaxryy Its easyer on a mac as the video.. dont ask me why... just is.. the hand gestures are so integrated and if using rectangle app, you get all the integrations and shortcuts.
I know linux has all that aswell but the integration and flow is just really good for laptop.
@littlesnitch Ive been using LS since i got a mac 2018 and have really enjoyed the experience, also upgraded from 4 to 5 as a no-brain:er and am now at a crossroad to go from 5 to 6... hook me up with a better deal than 39 and i will do it today but otherwise it'll have to wait. πββοΈ
@BrodieOnLinux@sysrich@veggero Keep on doing that, having a opinion! I for one know that doing all your videos about linux and all that happens within the ecospace has quite a lot of recearch behind it and gives you quite the credibility to have a strong opinion aswell!
@geerlingguy@eevblog Wait until you dive into a DaveCAD by @eevblog
Still remember when i bought my EEVBlog branded Brymen BM235
It was a pure joy to feel I was part of the gang π
@geerlingguy Should we be worried regarding IBM trying to buy Hashicorp that their influence on Terraform and Ansible could a devastating one regarding open source ethos?
@ChristianLempa Ive been running a 2 node proxmox cluster for years without ceph. Just give a quorum vote of 2 on one of them (the master). Yes not all bells work as intended but vms can easily be moved around as intended. Havent ran any HA stuff tho. As most is run in vms with docker/portainer
@ianzelbo I messaged youtube about this a few days ago aswell, its non functional, really hope they change back but what works for now is a oneliner to ublock origin to get the comments back under the video.. not perfect tho..
@ThePGriffiths@ChristianLempa @dumpyXfire Hard agree with @dumpyXfire, You can do proper microsegmentation and all that least privilege all day but recommending all homelabbers to all the sudden do that correctly, making their home setup 1000x more complex is the most naive thing Ive ever read, Its almost infuriating...
@geerlingguy@ansible Thanks Jeff for asking the hard questions, you have my full support, as i do recommend ansible left to right but need affirmation im doing right by that.
