@CurtisBird16@LanceNadeau3 The Liberals are far and away more popular than the Conservatives. Under the previous minority government the Conservatives blockaded committees and their legislation, not allowing numerous bills to come to a vote in the House.
That is not democracy.
@AndrewScheer Poilievre’s policy has been to ignore indigenous and environmental concerns, and start building the pipeline now.
That would be a recipe for social upheaval. Run roughshod over other people’s interests would sentence the Conservatives to opposition jail for a very long time v
@DrJacobsRad@MarkJCarney@PierrePoilievre The high price of beef is because of the great drought experienced in Western Canada.
People who try to blame it on the Government are letting their biases run away with them.
@johnfhuizing@acoyne There would be restrained anger by the rest of Canada if Alberta separated. If you expect there would be a “simple business relationship” you don’t understand the mentality of Canadians right now.
There would be a strong movement for retaliation.
@NSTRIKE1231 Some Ukrainian missiles have built-in AI to navigate by camera if all connectivity is lost. It is only a matter of time before all major missiles will have this capability on both sides.
@NorthrnPrspectv You think Liberal MPs would jump to 4 years of purgatory in the Conservative Party? If they were to jump in any direction it would be to the left.
This is Hallucinatory Politics.
@johnfhuizing@acoyne If Alberta separated it would make it a completely dependent country. The rest of Canada would be in no way inclined to allow exports through it without compensation for the damage independence caused the rest of Canada.
Likewise, Alberta would be at the mercy of the US.
@Tablesalt13 They aren’t on the air to sing praises of the Liberals, they are there to offer critiques.
No Government is immune to criticism; the point is the criticism sufficient to warrant a change in Government? Overwhelmingly the Canadian population is saying they approve in general.
@sarobertsonca Wow, talk about tone-deaf! There is widespread anger in Canada against the American Government and Poilievre thinks being seen with American public figures will enhance his electability?
@LarryBrockMP Since the Conservatives want to reduce the deficit while cutting taxes, what expenditures would they cut to offset the federal tax on gasoline?
The Conservatives are a populist party - they’ll tell you what you want to hear but not what you should hear.
@shuvmajumdar If the US doesn’t want to negotiate how can you criticize Carney for not negotiating?
Poilievre’s policy seems to be to appease Trump and thereby entice him to an agreement that would be heavily in Canada’s favour.
@AndrewScheer This is a ludicrous statement and shows how desperate the Conservatives are to try to lower the public’s opinion of him.
The liberals only got a majority a few days ago so how could he have used his majority to make life more comfortable for his party?
@AndrewScheer Conservatives had the chance to force a national election before the floor crossers. Don’t try to pretend that the majority of Canadians prefer the Conservative option.
@spaikin@liberal_party The Conservatives only supported FPTP, and NDP only supported proportional representation, because it was the only way they could get elected. And the Liberals supported ranked ballot because it was the only democratic way to elect a Government.
