Big thanks to @Astro_Radifah and @ABPNews for highlighting my piece on ghostbots in @CompLawSecRev.🙏🏼If you haven't checked out this recent publication yet, here's the link: "Affection as a service: Ghostbots and the changing nature of mourning" https://t.co/l1Hzo1gnT8
Last week I had the privilege to give my first keynote (!) at the 10th International Congress for Violence and Social Prevention, hosted by the Secretary @SeguridadGto. We talked about AI, Data Science, and about my PhD work. Incredible experience!!

Last week I chaired and presented at this amazing event, where the Computational Social Science team at the @TuringPubPol and Researchers from the @bankofengland presented our agendas and research projects. Amazing to see how many overlaps we have.

Yesterday our Modelling for Policy team were pleased to host researchers and data scientists from the @bankofengland.
Both teams presented on how they are tackling problems around computational social science and economics using #NLP, #networkscience and #MachineLearning.
The @metpoliceuk data reveal a clear divide between London-served territories, mainly in the 'South' of England. While no definitive explanation is found, I discuss potential hypotheses.
Grateful to @TuringPubPol, @econ_ub, and @RSocPublishing for their support!
Very happy to see this work finally published :) the paper explores the territorial logic of the County Lines in England. The County Lines Model is an illicit drug distribution in the UK, which has become a pressing issue for the @NCA_UK. https://t.co/JcBqrJhu13
I compared 3 spatial distribution models with different geo and socio-demographic data from the @metpoliceuk, @NHSDigital, @ONS and @commonslibrary. The best performing model highlights knife crime events and drug misuse as key factors in understanding the territorial dynamics.
THREAD1: Huge congratulations to my PhD student @leonardo_c25 who passed his PhD viva with minor corrections today! Leo is a physicist by initial training and was working with me on #behaviouraldatasceince of modern #crime and #cybersecurity: https://t.co/CDWywWeheM
Today I defended my PhD dissertation and had the opportunity to have an amazing chat about my research with Prof. @EimanKanjo and with Dr. Roshan Boojihawon. I feel so grateful and humbled by their feedback on how impactful my work can be! Stay tuned for the publications 😜

@leonardo_c25 presented his work on measuring illegal activity in the UK. His methods advance the way we understand drug trafficking by exploring the use of data sources and modeling.
Marcin Makowski showed his work on economics and physics.
