Nims lived boldly and dreamed beyond accepted limits. He made the world understand that Nepali climbers were not supporting characters; they were the heroes of their own stories. He showed that they could lead the strongest teams, organise the largest expeditions, make their own films, build global companies and define the direction of modern mountaineering. https://t.co/oEA2xXGEHV
Remembering Pur Bahadur Gurung (Yukta), and in honour of all those who lost their lives on the Broad Peak.
Yukta's passion for the mountains was unquestionable. This year, he stood on the summit of Everest for the 10th time; a remarkable achievement that reflected his extraordinary strength, dedication, and deep love for the high peaks. Over the course of his career, he completed 28 ascents of the world's 8,000-metre peaks and explored many previously unclimbed summits across the Himalayas, leaving an extraordinary legacy of mountaineering.
The stories shared by clients after climbing with Yukta were always filled with warmth, humour, kindness, and quiet determination. He inspired confidence in those around him, led with humility, and embodied the true spirit of the mountains.
Born in the remote village of Laprak in Nepal's Gorkha District, Yukta built his career through years of hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to the mountains. From his early days in the expedition industry, he steadily gained experience and developed into a highly respected mountaineer, eventually serving as a rope-fixing team leader on major expeditions, including Annapurna and the North Face of Everest.
In 2026, his expertise and dedication were recognised when he earned certification as an IFMGA Mountain Guide, one of the highest professional qualifications in the mountaineering world. His journey from a remote Himalayan village to becoming an internationally certified guide stands as a testament to perseverance, excellence, and an enduring passion for the mountains.

#Anthropic Tightens Security with New Identity Verification Measures
Anthropic has officially updated its privacy policy, signaling a significant shift in how it manages user security across its #Claude ecosystem. Moving forward, users of Claude Free, Pro, and Max tiers may be prompted to undergo mandatory age or identity verification. This process is set to be comprehensive, potentially requiring government-issued IDs, facial geometry templates, and biometric verification via photos or videos. While the rollout will be gradual, individual developers are the first group within the user base to fall under these new requirements. As Anthropic continues to scale, these measures underscore a broader industry trend toward stricter accountability and safety standards in the deployment of generative AI. #artificialhyperintelligence
