Welcome new followers 👋. Just a quick explanation. I started using lists because twitter randomly unfollowed people I definitely wanted to follow, so no harm meant in adding you. I do not add people to a list if they mention this in their profile.
One of James Strazza’s final poems. released today for #MEAwarenessWeek by his mother Gale Warden. James, a musician and poet, died last week, he had suffered from severe #ME since 2019.
A friend(and professional seamster) sent me a hand-sewn mask in 2020. It didn’t do much technically but it was beautiful, comfortable and expertly made. I sobbed like a baby because someone across the world wanted me to be safe, wanted me to live enough to go through the trouble. I still feel that joy when I see someone else masking. It’s a quiet act of care that feels almost unbearable now, given how willingly folks dispose of each other.
@internetuserf12 My form of engagement was that i bought your book. So even if you feel that posting is talking to the void, just remember, there are people in this darkness, listening to your voice.
@WHO In an update today, cruise operator Oceanwide Expeditions have now confirmed that 30 people (not 23, as was previously reported) disembarked from the ship at St Helena on 24 April.
The nationalities of all passengers & crew, including the 30 who disembarked, is detailed below ⬇️
Long COVID is not pale poets dying beautifully.
It is unread emails, shower stools, heart-rate alerts, brain fog, canceled plans, disability forms, compression socks, and people who "look fine".
From the beginning, I was suspicious that the couple may have picked up the Andes version of the Hanta Virus and then spread it to others aboard a ship of close quarters with shared recycled air
Obviously officials also believed that this is the worst case scenario and acted accordingly by not letting them off immediately.
Summary of cases:
1An adult male developed symptoms of fever, headache, and mild diarrhea on April 6 while on board the ship. He developed respiratory symptoms and died on board on April 11. His body was removed to Saint Helena on April 24.
2An adult female, identified as the wife of the male who died on board on April 11, went ashore to Saint Helena on April 24 with gastrointestinal symptoms. Her symptoms worsened during a flight to Johannesburg, South Africa, on April 25. She died on April 26. The case was confirmed as a hantavirus infection on May 4.
•Officials said the husband and wife were Dutch nationals and had traveled in South America, including Argentina, before they boarded the cruise ship.
3An adult male who reported a fever, shortness of breath and signs of pneumonia to the ship's doctor on April 24. After his condition worsened, he was medically evacuated to South Africa on April 27, where he is currently hospitalized in an Intensive Care Unit. Testing confirmed a hantavirus infection on May 2.
4An adult female whose symptoms began on April 28 and included fever and signs of pneumonia. She died on May 2.
5An individual who is still on board and being prepared for medical evacuation to the Netherlands for treatment, Kerkhove said.
6An individual who is still on board and being prepared for medical evacuation to the Netherlands for treatment, Kerkhove said.
7An individual who reported a mild fever at one point but is currently asymptomatic, Kerkhove said.

@DafoeWhitney Seconding the comments on considering effect on vasoconstriction. I noticed the same so i increased on supplements improving that. It’s still management though, not treatment. My choices include pycnogenol. But i think for different people different supplements will fit best
@WHO More BREAKING NEWS:
An 8th passenger from the cruise ship has tested positive for Andes Hantavirus.
This male passenger & his wife left the ship at the end of April to return home to Switzerland 🇨🇭.
He’s currently in isolation in a Zurich hospital.

@WHO The WHO have today confirmed that the incubation period for hantavirus can be UP TO 6 WEEKS!
Given this lengthy incubation period, it will be interesting to see what containment measures are put in place for both the cruise ship & flight passengers who may have been infected.
Collectively abandoning vulnerable people during a pandemic is one of the fastest ways to manufacture consent for the disposability of entire populations. Failing to see that connection is part of the problem.

Ho.
Lee.
Shit.
How have no health journalists spotted this??
The increase in NHS staff sickness absence is so stark that it is causing a *decrease* in staffing levels even though total numbers of workforce are going up.

1) Trigger warning: suicide
This paper analyzed 505 entries on the National CFIDS Foundation memorial list.
These were people with ME/CFS who passed away. The messages summarize their life, illness and struggles. The researchers grouped these into several recurring themes.
