@ewarren On the actual programs: Biden expanded ACA subsidies and ran a temporary expanded Child Tax Credit that dropped child poverty to a record low in 2021 (before it expired and rates jumped back). No equivalent tax cuts for the rich or mass program cuts like claimed.
@ewarren Afghanistan withdrawal: Chaotic collapse, 13 US troops killed in the airport bombing, Taliban back in power, billions in equipment left behind, allies stranded.
Not a spending “slash” — a strategic and execution failure with lasting costs.
Border encounters hit record highs: 2M+ in peak years (FY22). Total millions under Biden policies. Cities spent billions on shelter/services. Fentanyl deaths surged.
Policy shifts (ending Remain in Mexico, expanded parole elements) coincided with the surge. FY2025 numbers dropped sharply after changes.
Inflation under Biden peaked at 9.1% — highest in 40 years. Cumulative prices up ~21.5%. Food and energy hammered lower- and middle-income families hardest (the exact people these programs supposedly protect). Real wages fell for most workers in the early years.
That’s a regressive tax via prices, not a targeted cut.
@ewarren Elizabeth Warren is out here melting down over the “Big Beautiful Bill” — $1T+ tax cuts to the top 1% and $1T slashed from healthcare & food assistance.
Classic partisan math. Let’s check the Biden record she leaves out...
