And it paints a picture of a broken American centre that is rarely seen in mainstream American culture and media. This is probably the least pretty iteration of The Boss singing about difficult subjects, plenty of his tracks are grim

@Aidanosu @gmjackgm @ochoill @KHriminology To give it context this was recorded on a 4 track in hotel rooms and attempts to record it in a studio failed. So they released the 4 track demos. No tour, Atlantic City as the sole single and next up was Born in the USA album. 4/5 for me, Making it full score would be nostalgia.

@gmjackgm @Aidanosu @ochoill @KHriminology I'd be all over these guys live as well. The only band in this wheelhouse I spent any time with was Drowningman. This sounds like it's got plenty of Converge, Dillinger and other influences of this time. It's got that but of melody, but it's not a mess of noise either.

@gmjackgm @Aidanosu @ochoill @KHriminology I'm unfamiliar with this genre as a rule but can enjoy it. As far as I can tell this was recorded lo fi in a studio. So the sounds are much more refined and hi fi lo fi for want of a better descriptor. 3/5 from me. I need to listen to it some m ore to be honest.

@Aidanosu @gmjackgm @ochoill @KHriminology I'm not sure if I or the album began to run out of steam in the last couple of tracks. I listened to this through 3 times in partial listens. And it just seemed to fade out. And that may be more the style of the track not being my taste as much as others. 4/5

@Aidanosu @gmjackgm @ochoill @KHriminology This was amazing. Its a Stevie Wonder I didn't know I already knew a little of. A number of these songs were familiar, As, Isn't She Lovely, Sir Duke and some more. It showcases quite a range of styles from an artist who I really only knew the 80's pop hits well.

I spent ten years with II and have slowly been listening to the others over the past couple of years. Forgotten Places is almost a comp of the styles they had run up to that point.
