Egg prices are up 138%. We're calling BS on the excuses:
Avian flu? Avg flock size dropped 6% but no substantial drop in production.
Inflation? Cal-Maine's production costs were just 22% higher than in 2021.
Cal-Maine had a 10x increase in gross profits. This is price gouging.
Thank you, @SenJackReed, for asking @FTC to investigate egg companies for potential price gouging and other deceptive practices! Farm Action is watching this space closely.

I’m gonna talk about something that I’m not supposed to talk about.
I’m a 37 year old with dentures.
I was dirt poor for most of my adult life, and worked jobs that didn’t offer dental care (hospitality/serving). Small problems like cavities became BIG problems.
A family has to pay $2.75 x 4 to ride mass transit from Brooklyn to Manhattan, plus a return trip. $22 total
A BK family pays $0 to drive a car to Manhattan and park it on the street.
NYC subsidizes gridlock.
I’ve returned from my trip to Amsterdam! It was lovely.
As a wheelchair user, I found it much more challenging than I had anticipated.
My thoughts on transport and street accessibility…🧵
Reminder that it’s cars, not Open Streets or bike lanes, that delay emergency vehicles.
cc person on the #berryopenstreet BKCB1 call last night who was very concerned about @FDNY trucks’ undercarriage getting scraped (?) by movable barricades. Pls advocate for car reduction.
I asked @NYC_DOT about this on a call on Friday and then on Friday night at their BQE North workshop. I said I’d appreciate a response before someone gets seriously hurt. @bridges4people has brought this up as a serious issue and we need answers.

Love the “Moving from car-centric to care-centric public space” approach being discussed at today’s #Visionzerocities conference!
More space on buses, better transit service & reliability, inclusive public space design, cultural competency in mass transit 🏆🏆
@TransAlt
Our first round of breakout sessions are underway at #VisionZeroCities!
• Gender equity in transportation and public space
• Tech-driven approaches to Vision Zero
• Creative solutions for safe streets
So excited to see Bronx Councilmember @AmandaFariasNYC chairing the Gender Equity in Transportation & Public Space at the @TransAlt#VisionZeroCities conference right now.
On my way here I saw a stroller get stuck between the platform and the train. Lots of people came to help but we have a lot of work to do to design for gender equity.

Not all streets are created equal.
Today we're launching Spatial Equity NYC with @MITLCAU to reveal how inequities in public space contribute to racial and economic disparities across New York City neighborhoods.
See the data. Take action.

Mayor @RaviBhalla on Hoboken’s passage of 20mph speed limit:
‘The City council passed the ordinance unanimously. Lower speed limits isn’t rocket science— this is common sense; it works.’ @TransAlt#Visionzerocities
