@Osarseph0 He's more helpful if you read him as a living "reductio ad absurdum" of enlightenment philosophy. Alasdair MacIntyre lays it out beatifully in "After Virtue". Much like Marx, his conclusions are far less important than his critiques.
@cwlkr2023@Rosomane1900@EricRSammons Make a nasty comment towards your fellow Catholic and then play dumb victim when I call you out on it. Typical. Just leave me alone, please.
That would be the case if this was a case of he-said she-said, but the Church is divinely instituted and public by nature. I don't have to choose between the body of 1 billion Catholics under the pope who go to diocesan Mass and a splinter group of a few hundred thousand. Christ gave us a global Church, not an esoteric chapel in the middle of Texas or wherever.
@TheHarryPainter@johnamonaco@EricRSammons The former head of the SSPX literally said he thinks they're going to get excommunicated. This is a plain English test, you don't have to start doing a research paper to get it.
@FreddyLA7 Pull over when you get to Scott, Louisiana and start seeing the Cajun specialty meat store signs. It's in southwest Louisiana just west of Lafayette. I like Best Stop, but there are other places too. Pork cracklins and smoked boudin are an essential cultural experience.
@eurocompel Yes, but you can also have potential powers that are not presently actualized. The fertilized egg can't think yet, but it does have that power "in potency", and therefore does have it in a real way. Human beings who are in a vegetative state likewise don't cease to be human.
