Gardens don’t exist in nature. Wilderness does.
Gardens you create through intentional design, and maintain through violence.
You dig up the earth, pull the weeds, kill predators/pests that devour your blossoms.
Be vigilant and willing to aggress against that which threatens.
ChatGPT falls under the category of Public Disclosure. Information in Public Disclosure cannot be patented, since it will not satisfy the Novelty Requirement for patents. So by describing an invention to ChatGPT, it invalidates the very patent one is trying to file. 🤔
🇨🇳 CHINA BROKE THE SKY WITH 11,787 DRONES
Chongqing, China just pulled off the wildest drone light show the world has ever seen.
A jaw-dropping 11,787 drones lit up the night sky, setting a new Guinness World Record.
The drones moved together to create glowing shapes like a giant running kid and swirling clouds above tall buildings.
It looked more like a Pixar dream than something real.
Fireworks could never.

The archetype of a bad explanation is “there are things beyond our understanding.” Such a statement is always true, in every circumstance, in every subject matter, at all times, therefore it is useless as a foundation for rationality.
@Sam_kuyp Would you kindly explain to me what “Constructor Theory” is? I am reading Deutsch’s Beginning of Infinity. I don’t have a formal background in physics so the language is confusing to me. I was recommended to you by Logan Chipkin at the Conjecture Institute. Thanks!
Seems high signal:
Nearly 10% of people in the U.S. are now taking GLP-1s, GLP-1s, a class of drug used for weight loss because they suppress appetites, and 30 to 35% have expressed interest in taking them, according to a 2024 report.
One survey reported that more than 50% of users dined out less frequently since starting the medications and another found that 63% of people on Ozempic order considerably less when they do go to restaurants.

Sovereignty is overrated. We need more country M&A. Just being practical, the size of a market matters.
I come from Kenya, which has a 50 million population. If Kenya had a 150 million population, it would have a completely different story on the world stage.
So Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Ethiopia all need to merge.
I think that's way more important than this idea of sovereignty that everyone's obsessed about.

Crime has been falling for decades, yet people feel more unsafe than ever. Why?
Because there has been a coordinated and concerted effort to increase the Level of Fear in society. People in fear "automatically" turn toward Authority for guidance and resolution. Forming the perfect conditions for anybody trying to get elected.

Karl Popper on the Meaning of Life:
All life is problem-solving.
There will never be an unproblematic state.
"An unproblematic state is also known as death." ~ @DavidDeutschOxf
Instead, you want to move from less fun problems to more fun problems.
➤ When you're constantly solving your problems, you're having fun.
➤ When you're thwarted in solving your problems, you tend to get agitated, depressed, upset, and angry.
A lot of our psychological distress comes from problems we can't surmount.
• a disease
• relationship issue
• business issue
• making money
• etc...
Suppose we want to prioritize joy over unhappiness. Therefore we want to solve our problems. We want to continue to make progress. And that's where the meaning of life is.
That's the Universal meaning of life. ~ Karl Popper
But how does it apply for an individual?
@ToKTeacher has some advice:
Figure out:
➤ What are the problems that animate you?
➤ What is going to drive you to get up every single morning?
➤ What will you just work on with curiosity and dogged passion?
And solve those problems...!
There are these signposts along the way of getting older.
The first is when the Playmate of the Month is younger than you are. Suddenly you're starting to feel dirty because you're twenty-three and she's nineteen and you really shouldn't be looking at that picture.
The next thing that happens is professional athletes are younger than you are.
Then coaches and managers are younger than you are.
And finally, the last one that happens: I'm the same age as the president of the United States.
~ Aaron Sorkin
It’s a sorry state of affairs that we can’t realize how much individual power we have, the vastness of the potential from collaborating that power and what the human race is capable of.
We could, in all reality, do anything, if only we put our minds to it.
The idea that we can’t, which is potentially the principle behind the biggest losses of our era, doesn’t stem from religion; it stems from our inability to see the perils of our own intellect.

@andruyeung@rhobusiness Hey Andrew - Just moved to NYC in July and heard great things about your events via word of mouth. Would be a pleasure to attend one and meet the lovely people you consistently bring together.
I am currently building a media and advertising company if that helps!
