@malavikamudit @grace_ssmith I 100% agree, and it's something I struggle with a lot. But I also find that my inner editor is usually a sign that I don't know what I want to say well enough to just write. It's telling me to do more thinking. Only it does it poorly

Yesterday I told @grace_ssmith how much I hated what I was writing. We talked about letting our characters be authentic, finding inspiration in the real world, and silencing our inner editor.

Then I had a 4 page conversation with my main character. 🤯
