One of the reasons this entire #BringBackValko movement is working in the first place is because we are all coming together for a specific cause, and that is beyond solo, duo or multi enjoyers or whether someone is even interests in the character or not. The issue with what has happened with Valko goes beyond just himself, and I will go into it again here but the crucial thing is that we do not lose sight of the main aims of all of this. Valko is not the be all and end all, even with his return, and this should not turn into the toxic elitism and divisive cruelty that got us all so fractured in the first place. Even in a cause that makes sense to us, there are lines that need to be respected and keep being lost and blurred which only damages the sentiment and core reason for the movement.

The primary principle of all of this in the first place is the following:
Valko is not the problem, the game state is.

For some people his existence as a whole was an issue because of multiple factors, some which are more understandable then leading to purely subjective. But the concentration is not on trying to rationalise to those who are stubborn on seeing differently - but those who are willing to listen and keep the momentum of what has been done so far.

That said, how this is done is becoming a larger cause for concern. Reaching to people within the gaming space and pop culture is fine, but when we are targeting institutions like the United Nations, running to peoples Linkdin pages or spamming the singer of the Love and Deepspace theme tune Sarah Brightman, we are beginning to lose the plot very thoroughly. This is making our valid player complaints look like a gimmick and a joke, which I know may not be the intention and it may be to essentially desperately call in attention, but can very quickly spiral into making us look illogical and like we have thoroughly missed the mark.

Also speaking in a demeaning way about pre-existing Love Interests should be DISCOURAGED. CHECK YOURSELVES, YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR MUTUALS AND ANYONE ELSE WHO IS DOING THIS. Falling into the same toxic shitty behaviours that caused such division in the fandom and such separation from those of us who want Valko back to those who are adamantly opposing fixes nothing. We have to be better. I know this is easy for me to say as a multi enjoyer, but truly if you want to momentum to stick (in the ideal circumstance he does come back) we have to make sure we do not do what others have in terms of hating on other LI as if it achieves anything but makes things worse. It is why there has not been a successful boycott since the 1.0 OG3 boycott - if you want this to count you have to be the change we want.

This is not just a joke of the times, in some capacity it can be but the core aspect is that the game has failed us on multiple levels and we want that addressed with the return of Valko and his dismissal was explicitly because of the pre-existing issues.

To detail this further, some core issues of the game before Valkot were already outlined in the VIPCC formal letter of complaint put out as follows:
⚫️Lack of any communication for Main Story, Myth and Multi-banner announcements and scheduling through a clear roadmap.
⚫️Lack of any updates to combat despite being a key focus of the entire game and the core farmable content since 4.0 (two versions ago).
⚫️Extremely slow Main Story and permanent content updates, with Caleb’s presence in Main story missing for 524 days, whilst for Sylus it has been 407 days (at the time of writing the letter). This on top of their content deficit in having significantly less standard cards, anecdotes, companions and bonds, only lead to more grievances by the players who are specifically waiting for them to receive new content.

This is not an exhaustive list, but some of the key contributing factors to the reasons why some players did not want Valko to join the game as none of the above was fixed before he came back. There were some players who did not want a 6th, or simply did not like his appearance, but that is a completely separate and subjective topic to the reality. A 6th was always going to come, that was the literal planned progression of the game and the 6 Stellactrum and Cat Caretaker banner having ear and tail options should be key enough in indicating further that his design ideas were already in effect in the back end. (Amongst many other things) However, this is not a post about justifying his existence, I will save that for another time.

What does matter however is ensuring advocacy for Valko AND the issues that lead to the backlash against him are still kept front of mind and part of the complaints aired to Infold. They make millions, they have to have the capacity to address both. Prioritising the kitchen incorporation, no matter how fun and cute it is and despite the farming potential of the new game mode, it does not work for players who already have size restrictions on their device. Furthermore, it does not work for the second core aspect of the game which is the combat.

The entire Memory system of the game which is the "Dating" portion feeds into the combat aspect from stellactrum matching to ATK, DEF and HP stat boosting. This is how the Primary function Dating feeds into the Secondary function Combat. The aforementioned issues with content disparities and no new farmable combat content already leaves the Secondary function of the game further in limbo, leading to more unrest. A new combat function should have been prioritised over the incorporation of a Kitchen and within the Unicorns Operations system which has not been updated for a year (4.0 July 2025 update), and thus more instability and anger brewed.

The argument made about invested resources should go to the 5 is a moot point, simply because when you invest in the game you are investing to pull for cards - knowing the money will go to the company as a whole. It is not set to go to your love interest. It was not that way before Sylus or Caleb either. You are not investors, you are players of a gacha game. We can air our complaints and criticisms and should do so, but it is the Infold's decision in the end how those resources are allocated between LI.

How this ties into the issue with Valko's removal is it not only invalidates the thousands to more invested into him already, the money we have already spent, on content that was ALREADY READY TO GO but also Main Character Miss Hunter's journey. Main Story is not about the romance primarily, though all the LI do still love her, it is about HER journey with all these men she has had these pasts/parallel timelines/potential futures with. They are all crucial to her development and 6 Stellactrum she resonates with is core to her own energy as to cosmos. This also means Valko's story would have to be stripped and given to others, making each LI lose some of their own unique integrity they were planned with to make up for a whole other piece of the puzzle and character the narrative is missing.

Valko is the head of a business in a different way to Sylus within a company that is not part of the Underworld in the tech sphere, has animalistic traits are affiliated to the land where Rafayel's link to the Sea, and his research is not within biological matter like Zayne. His approach to all these aspects were built differently, and the game gives you essentially two options within a concept to explore.

I do not want Zayne to have any aspect of what was originally Valko's to make up for his absence, or Sylus or Rafayel, or even Xavier and Caleb. People kept calling him a Frankenstein LI, but for everyone who on a basic level understands the other LI's, you can see how Valko is a new piece of the picture. Without him all the LI will be left with the attachment of zombie ghost limbs to make up for his absence, this is a literal story nightmare.

It is more than fine to not be interested or attracted, but that does not mean other people do not like him just like other people don't like someone else's favourite. Personal taste is the whole fun of otome, but for LADS in particular with it's science-fiction fantasy exploration of a woman's lives across multiple incarnations of worlds, it takes significantly more than one pursuit of a concept for the full tapestry of the entire universe. Every single story is fine and complete on its own, the LI do not NEED other LI for their story to work in terms of their romances. However for MC's story and the universe all stories have value for everything to come together on a grand scale.

This leads into one of the core frustrations: the complete lack of respect or consideration for the plan of the game and the Narrative and Artistic Integrity. By rebelling so harshly against the original vision of the game, the original pursuit of the story and how Valko would have provided a new perspective and angle for the advancement of the universe, the story is ruined. By giving into the harassment campaign and not fulfilling their original vision, Infold have set an extremely concerning and dangerous precedent which is why I was concerned for all LI content after the announcement.

The dangerous precedent is that if any group comes together and complains loudly and hatefully enough, they will get what they want. Groups within this divide between bringing Valko back and opposing may feel a sense of unity (and admittedly the oppositions unity is extremely weak considering the toxic histories the same bad actors played into against each other - but I digress). The issue with this is that now any groups of LI mains may come together when an LI gets a specific kind of content they do not want them to have, and harass them en masse executing the same threats with the assumption Infold will listen. Regardless of your stance on Infold as a company and their many flaws, the harassment and humiliation of the alleged faeces and recently mentioned glutinous rice debacles is beyond reprehensible. We cannot allow such dangerous and callous behaviour to go rewarded, and Infold must understand the fanbase who cares about their product and wants them to do better by their product, cannot also allow these bullies to run rampant. Online or in real life. This is not a country divide, because even globally people were being atrociously toxic.

⚫️Shaming and cursing sexual assault victims speaking out against the allegations of what Valko was accused of, because it weaponised trauma.
⚫️To slut shaming players who simply enjoy more than one character.
⚫️To racism and dismissing colorism (sinophobia AND towards brown/black players).
⚫️To extremely disgusting uses of generative AI for politically insensitive imagery.

This has all been extremely disgusting and we truly cannot fall into these antics being what we allow or stand for, regardless of where someone stands. But especially for those who choose to stand united with us. Yes, we want Valko back. But he is not the end, we would never be in a situation of wanting him "back" if he was never taken in the first place and the entire antics of this fanbase so far has lead to this. We have to move forward in a way that aligns to the vision of the movement - being passionate, united and just better than before.

Moving forward, please ensure that the desire for attention is targeted to media outlets and those in relevant spheres (Gaming), not outside of them. As fun, cheesy and meme-y we can get, don't let the core be forgotten for some clout or let this be turned into a joke. Yeah yeah all this for a wolf man in a dating sim, but he's our wolf man and we deserved to get to know him. And honestly more importantly, get to know the MC and kind of love they could share from what we have gone through so far into this next stage of her journey.

This is very much me calling myself out and just general behaviour - but it is better to do so than let it slide. Don't stop being loud, passionate, creative and honestly FUN. This place has taken so much from us time and time again, even if it's the last hurrah, let it mean something more than the hell everyone put us through before.
