Campaigning for lesbians within Labour & wider labour movement🌹Lesbian = exclusively same sex attracted female. Contact us by email at [email protected]
We also emailed @amnesty last week following their libellous characterisation of LWD & other feminist, LGB, parent & clinician orgs as 'anti rights', on the basis of us being 'gender critical' or promoting 'conversion practices'.
This latter accusation is particularly egregious given the govt's recent publication of a badly drafted CP Ban Bill which would criminalise the concerns of parents & feminists like ourselves who oppose the harms to young people of puberty blockers & "gender affirming" care.
Along with @LesbianLabour & @LabourLGB, we are socialists & feminists who reject the sexist stereotypes of the gender identity politics which has, sadly, crept into much of the left & parts of the @UKLabour party.
All polling shows we reflect the views of the majority of Labour members & voters - and, probably, of Amnesty supporters too.
We await with interest Amnesty's prompt reply to our letter...
Cass now says Jo “is not a specific case, but represents a group of similar children”, some who are secretly transed by parents even younger than 2.5yrs, “and do not come to medical attention until much later as puberty looms.”
This should be criminalised.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Hilary Cass has little understanding or interest in child development. For a paediatrician of her standing, this is shocking. This explains the massive hole in her report around child development and her latest blundering and, frankly, embarrassing interventions.
She has not read or thought about the learning from the Reimer Case, where John Money persuaded David's parents to bodily and socially transition him into Joan as a small child. David had no choice about the stealth transition and detransitioned when he realised what had been done to him.
For Cass to speak as she has about the impact of stealth social transition is plain ignorant. Read some Piaget, Marcia, and Winnicott, please, Dr Cass.
Last weekend was our conference #WRNConf26 and our first panel had the brilliant @akuareindorf speaking about women's human rights and important legal cases, with other ground breaking women.
Yes, that's right @amnesty - women have rights too!
Proud to share a place on Amnesty's list with you & other excellent orgs inc @beirasplace. We are of course also writing a similar letter.
But the letters we're also keen to get sent are to @UKLabour ministers & MPs opposing their absurdly badly written "Conversion Practices" Ban Bill which puts orgs like ours in the frame for vexatious accusations & police investigations.
Here’s what she wrote about it to parliamentarians:
“There was considerable discomfort in the House and more widely on social media about my account of ‘Jo’, a biologically male child who was socially transitioned to a girl at 2½ and presented at around 10-11 afraid to go to secondary school for fear of being ‘outed’, later
retreating to their bedroom and developing weak bones due to inactivity. ‘Jo’ is not a specific case, but represents a group of similar children being seen in the new services, and previously at the Tavistock. Although social transition is usually later (from 4 onwards), I was told during the Review about children who had been transitioned at Jo’s age and younger.
“I have been asked why safeguarding procedures would not have been initiated when ‘Jo’ was a toddler, but these children are frequently living in stealth (i.e. those around them do not know their biological sex) and do not come to medical attention until much later as puberty looms. A male child who has socially transitioned at 4 and presents at 11 will have next to no recollection of being a boy. They are not making a decision to be a girl – by that time they just believe themselves to be a girl and have no frame of reference to think differently. Even with input from
the very skilled therapists in the new services, encouraging them to think more flexibly about their identity is rarely successful, regardless of what their natural trajectory would have been if
they had not been socially transitioned at that very early stage.”
Amnesty International has removed its report accusing women's rights organisations of being "anti-rights groups." The speed of withdrawal suggests someone realised the legal exposure. Merched Cymru was named. We'll be in touch. https://t.co/JsLLik3ns1
I’m shocked. No, really, I am. Who could possibly have predicted that taking testosterone would be bad for pregnant women? Why, you’d have to be actually psychic to have guessed that one. 🙄
I had a quick look at @AmnestyUK ‘s accounts, three years ago they had £10m in cash to carry over, it’s down to £2m
Income is down by nearly £3m
If they carry on this way, this year they will go into the red - turns out shitting on women isn’t as profitable as they thought
@conlock_r@WomensRightsNet@LabWomenDec@LesbianLabour Shocking that a women trade union leader, of a union with such a majority of women members, fails to defend women's legal rights under the Equality Act 2010.
Consult the members rather than outsourcing policy to LGBTQ+ groups!
Stop discriminating against women! #SingleSexSpaces
Now @jk_rowling's had a chance of a terfy chat with Queen Camilla, it's fun to wonder if @Martina's showing Princess Catherine her posts on X backing leftie lesbians & feminists like us who oppose our govt's support for a harmful puberty blocker trial & Conversion Practices Bill.
@LesbianLabour@LabourLGB Children of Transitioners get no help/funding & some have experienced awful things from our dads https://t.co/94QgAw1WdK To see Amnesty targetting us was distressing. So thanks Lesbian groups for making us laugh & reminding our volunteers to be proud of helping other CoTs/girls!
At last an out lesbian receiving the reward she deserves - @tracygilbert72 Braveheart - standing up for the rights of lesbians, women and girls - we thank you !
