Mao Ning, how do you like this history?
Your communist regime slaughters your people over and over. Millions upon millions.
In fact, the Chinese people are greatest victims of the Communist Party.
BUT here's the good news: The ones who escape to America become champions!
Today, the Select Committee honored the legacy of the June 4, 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre, and the courageous survivors who still face transnational repression from the CCP 37 years later. Special thanks to Arthur Liu, proud dad to Olympic Champion figure skater Alysa Liu, and former U.S. Army Chaplain Yan Xiong for sharing their stories from 1989, and the more recent threats against them and their families. All of us believe in the God-given rights and liberties we enjoy as Americans and pray one day the Chinese people will have these rights too.
If you do not personally come to the conclusion that it is time to end this war, Ukraine will continue fighting for its existence. We will have those who support us.
But you, too, will have to fight much harder for your own existence — not Russia’s, but your own. And this is not a threat from me or from Ukraine. It is a fact of Russian history that you know well: when Russia grows tired, change comes.
We can work toward that fatigue.
You can stop your war.
Eternal memory to all those whose lives were taken by this war.
Glory to Ukraine!
Open Letter
To the President of the Russian Federation
From the President of Ukraine
When you came to power in Russia more than 26 years ago, many people in Ukraine viewed you positively. That is how it was. But that is now in the past.
Now, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians view it positively that our long-range drones paid a visit to the opening of your forum in St. Petersburg, covering a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. As you know very well, that distance is not the limit of our capabilities.
Today, Canadians honour the memory of all who lost their lives, were injured or went missing during the Tiananmen Square crackdown on June 4, 1989. Canada stands with the survivors and the families and loved ones who continue to demand accountability.
37 years ago today, the Chinese Communist Party set the military against its own people, killing & injuring thousands. Xi Jinping can try his hardest to erase this history, but we will never forget - and we will always stand with the people of China who seek freedom.
In 1989, Chinese General Xu Qinxian refused to lead his troops into Tiananmen Square. This courageous decision to stand on the side of democracy and peace against the tyranny of the CCP earned him a court martial and five years in prison. In new video of his trial, General Xu said he didn’t want to be “a sinner in history.” For his bravery, he will always be remembered on the right side of history. https://t.co/w4twPL5web
37 years ago today, the Chinese Communist Party ordered the People's Liberation Army to open fire on its own people. Peaceful students demanding freedom were murdered by the military and the CCP still censors every mention of it.
The world must never forget.
On June 4th, 1989, the CCP brutally massacred students gathered in Tiananmen Square. The communists in Beijing then tried to cover up their crimes.
We will never forget.
As we mark the 37th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, we remember the courageous students and citizens who stood up for freedom and paid the ultimate price.
Their voices were met with tanks—but their call for democracy endures.
China accused US Secretary of State Marco Rubio of distorting facts and interfering in internal affairs after he said memories of the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown in Beijing could not be erased by censorship https://t.co/06AwRPF0Mp
