Let Down is STILL wrapped up but I wanted to encourage EVERYONE who followed our campaign to now follow & join @ACORNCardiff. They do incredible work as a grassroots campaign group & renters' union; they've already helped so many people in Cardiff. Please join up! #renting
Listen to us speaking to BBC Radio Wales on tenants rights during the covid19 crisis 👇 (1:16:24 on the link)
According to Rent Smart Wales, 40% of the people they surveyed said they had fallen into rental arrears.
We need action. This is terrifying.

Would people please stop showing sympathy to landlords who sometimes, ONCE IN A BLUE MOON, have to do something SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT which still ultimately means tenants have a crap deal and live in precarious circumstances, whilst they still pay off second homes with our rent.
✅ This would help ensure that pubs, hotels, sports grounds etc that are in danger of closure stay in the hands of local residents, and can be developed and used in a way that benefits the community. ✊
🖋️❗Please sign & share this petition calling on the Senedd to give communities the legal right to bid for local assets that are in danger of being sold off.

The SECOND exciting thing is @lizsilversmith , who ran Let Down, will be on 'This Is Not a Recess' podcast tomorrow with @daranhill, @jenniebibs, @calumhiggins, @AlunDaviesMS & @beth_eluned to talk housing!
Shelter & Alun helped us a lot during Renting Homes Bill, can't wait.
We haven't been on Twitter since we wrapped up the campaign... but we're back for two days only. So we can highlight TWO exciting things.
Firstly, we delighted and joyful about @ACORNCardiff starting up in Wales. We've been calling for a renters union in Wales for a long time...
If there isn't a branch in your area... set one up! They have a UK wide structure and resources, so they can support you fully and lovlingly to develop into a local renters union.
You know what to do if you're angry - GET CAMPAIGNING! #renters

Glad this has been settled. Landlords who aren't licensed can't evict, full stop. This is in line with what the Act intended. Shows how easy it is to miss details when drafting legislation, and how much of a pain it can be to sort things out afterwards!
TPAS Cymru and the Welsh Assembly are organising sessions for people living in private rented homes to learn more about & discuss amendments to the Renting Homes (Wales) Act. If you rent and would like a chance to have your say, you can learn more here: https://t.co/khgRC4MScJ
Renting Homes Bill? Another one! Not to worry, we have summarised the changes in just 2 pages. Follow our link and broaden your knowledge 👉👀🧠🗣

We welcome @wgmin_housing commitment made in @Senedd looking at ways of incorporating the right to adequate housing into law.
A due regard duty is not direct incorporation but it is a strong start that will help in the fight to #endhomelessness

Letting fees are now BANNED in Wales! 🏠💷
We hope this forces letting agents to focus on a good service & ensure landlords can’t afford to lose valuable renters.
If an agent or landlord asks you for fees, let your council and @RentSmartWales know.
