That last line is the real lesson - the 7 ads found the first buyers, but the product did the rest. When people build something with their own hands, they get attached to it, and attachment is what turns a customer into someone who shares. That is a much harder thing to engineer than a good ad.
so shopping is now: say what you want, agent picks the match, done. no scrolling, no tab graveyard.
which quietly changes everything. the whole game becomes "does the agent surface you or not." rough times ahead for anyone still betting on being browsed.
Muse from @Meta just dropped and Shopify merchants are already live
When someone uses their Muse for shopping, it searches Shopify Catalog to find the best match

Earning the badge was already hard at 1 in 16 apps, and every month the catalogue grows, it represents a more selective slice of the store.

Built for @Shopify just got rarer again. It now sits at 6.1% of apps, down from 6.3% a month ago.
85 more apps earned the badge last month.

@harleyf I love that you wrote this for the kids who don’t necessarily see themselves in the usual definition of success. Those are often the kids who just need someone to tell them that the way their brain works is a strength.
@gerdolinsky The fact that a business can operate for years, build a clean track record, and then suddenly be at risk because of a historical connection is pretty concerning. Hopefully this gets reviewed properly and there’s a clear explanation for what happened.
@AbyssusErigo@Shopify Hope German gets some clarity on this soon. Whatever the reason behind the decision, situations affecting an entire team deserve a proper review rather than getting stuck in a support loop.
@jevon I like the COO comparison. There’s something different about a model that can research, organize a bunch of moving pieces, and actually work through financial models instead of just helping with one task at a time.
