You can go to an Ivy League, become a lawyer, then become a VP at one of the world’s largest banks.
And leftists will celebrate your murder.
Not because you did anything wrong, but precisely BECAUSE you did so many things right.
They hate success because they can’t achieve it.
@TMTLongShort its more a question of how forward co leadership is with integrating ai/positioning themselves to be on the right side of the bitter lesson. guys like tobi and sanjit will adapt and prob come out stronger
On CNN NewsNight, The Atlantic’s Jemele Hill argues that capitalism is oppressive and bound up in white supremacy.
Kmele Foster: “It's one thing to not think capitalism isn't working ideally. It's another thing entirely to insist that it is oppressive, that it is bound up with white supremacy.
Hill: “How is it not?”
Foster: “I've always preferred Adam Smith's description of capitalism as the natural system of liberty. The idea that people can own property, that they can exchange it freely with one another for profit, that they can find ways to put their resources to good use and profit in a way that is actually beneficial to everyone else, that there can be gains from trade that are mutually beneficial. These are foundational ideas that have created more wealth than any other system in human history. That is what capitalism is! That is not white supremacy.”
Hill: “Do you think capitalism has always worked that way?”
Foster: “I've actually just described the basic facts of the economics.”
Hill: “That ain't how it's always worked.”
Foster: “Slavery is an institution that is older than writing. It predates capitalism. The notion that white supremacy and all these other things are bound up with capitalism in an intrinsic and fundamental way is so absurd and laughable, it barely needs to be defended.”
Hill: “How was it absurd?”
Foster: “It barely needs to be defended.”
Hill: “What do you mean it barely needs to be defended?”
Foster: “You actually have to articulate what the connections is. How are these two things the same? I'm talking about private property, the right to exchange and sell with whomever you like. What does that have to do with white supremacy? … What is the white supremacy dynamic of private property?“
🚨 BREAKING: Scott Bessent just sent shivers down the spine of Iranian regime leaders. What a bad*ss...
"I will say it on worldwide TV: we KNOW WHERE in the British Virgin Islands your accounts are, at these trust companies. We know the hundred million dollar houses you have around the world. WE ARE GOING TO CLOSE ALL THAT DOWN."
🔥🔥🔥
"We are going after the regime's assets they have stolen from the Iranian people."
"They can go to the victims of terror."
"After 47 years — IT IS OVER."
"Either you are with us, or against us."
Doesn’t surprise me. The whole party is like that!
Hollywood icon Denzel Washington says a ten-minute conversation with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez felt “like talking to a high school girl.”
“I’m being honest, I was pretty shocked,” Washington said. “She just didn’t seem to know what she was talking about. The talking points were childish, her view of the world is completely jaded, and it honestly feels like somebody convinced her a long time ago that America is something she should hate.”
Washington also took a swipe at AOC’s background, saying, “When you elect a bartender with a theater degree to Congress, this is what you get.”
“I really don’t think she understands what her job is.”
If you’re a macro investor, connect the dots for a second. Markets are pricing in a September hike, yields are surging, and the consensus is completely taking the bait.
Druckenmiller who literally trained both Warsh and Bessent publicly takes a swing at Bessent’s bond market interventions. Bessent plays along, firing right back. Meanwhile, Warsh and Druck wrote this piece calling on the Fed to hold off on hikes in 18.
It’s a masterclass in narrative control imo. Warsh gets styled as the uncompromised hawk to buy the central bank maximum market credibility even though everyone knows the core mandate from Trump is to cut rates.
Trump throws up a bone, gets a deal with Iran. Crude gets crushed-> yields come down, energy drops, and inflation cools. Warsh gets his cover to aggressively cut, equities rip to fresh all time highs, and the Admin claims its "Golden Age."
I mean come on it’s too obvious!!!
Sf is turning into a city of pseudo intellectuals using pure word salad to justify nonsense ai research objectives.
Non of this dwarkesh patel substack stuff would have been written if engineers at open ai engineered a sandbox correctly from first principles.
The Sf tech scene is currently being transformed to suit a certain type of individual who has mastered the arts of larping and building solutions to problems that don't actually exist.
And you guys collectively bring that larping to a whole new level.
HE'S RIGHT!
The data center buildout is basically a clean version of the industrial revolution that employs tons of blue collar workers in high-paying jobs and makes us all richer.
I found a fully autonomous Cybercab driving around Whole Foods in Austin. Fully autonomous. Nobody in it. I even jumped in front of it because I trust FSD 😂 We are so close to public launch
I regret to inform Zohran Mamdani and the DSA that the Center-Left has officially found their short-form video content champion.
Emma Camp just might save America. 🇺🇸
