CHART OF THE DAY: Iranian total oil output hit a 46-year high in 2025, according to the @EnergyInstitute 'Statistical Review of World Energy.'
In recent years, Iran has made an effort to boost condensate and natural gas plant liquids output (from its massive South Pars field).
Iran hit two UAE supertankers in the Strait of Hormuz, killing one sailor and injuring eight, in an attack that was condemned by Emirati authorities.
The UAE's Ministry of Defence said early on Tuesday that the Mombasa and the Bahiya were struck by two Iranian cruise missiles in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz.
The southern route is designated by Oman and the UN to keep vessels away from Iranian mines and its hostile navy. The Iranian attack on the GFS Galaxy, which is Cypriot-owned and managed by a Dubai firm, on Saturday sparked the exchange of strikes that began at the weekend.
'The Ministry of Defence condemns this brazen attack, which constitutes a serious violation and a clear breach of international law, threatening the security and stability of the region,' it said.

(For what's worth, the fires reported by many via the FIRMS / NASA data are almost certainly several flare stacks at the terminal, and have been picked up by the same instrument in the past at the same locations).
The US military will begin enforcing a maritime blockade on Iran on Tuesday, the US Navy-led Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) said on Monday.
The blockade, covering all of Iran's ports, oil terminals and coastal areas, will be enforced for all vessel traffic - regardless of flag - from 2000 GMT on July 14, the center said in an advisory.
"Any vessel suspected of entering or departing the blockaded area without authorization is subject to interception, diversion, and capture. Non-compliant vessels may be legally compelled with force," the statement said.
The center said neutral transit through the Strait of Hormuz heading to or from non-Iranian destinations will not be impeded.
🚨 The Hormuz crisis is spiralling.
With US-Iran diplomacy in total collapse, Washington has launched a major inward military expansion while Tehran has effectively closed the Strait to commercial shipping.

Iran’s armed forces warned on Monday they would not allow the U.S. to interfere in the management of the Strait of Hormuz, saying any U.S. actions in the strategic waterway endangered regional security, international trade and the passage of oil tankers and commercial vessels, according to a statement carried by state media.
The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters also warned regional countries that any logistical support or cooperation with U.S. forces would be regarded as an act of war against Iran’s sovereignty and national security, adding that Tehran would respond forcefully to any disruption to commercial shipping and blaming the U.S. and its allies for any escalation of conflict in the region.
BREAKING: US President Donald Trump says Washington is reinstating a naval blockade against Iran -- but also says the US will demand a 20% fee on all cargo shipped to guarantee the Strait of Hormuz is open to other countries (on first reading, that equals to ~$15 per barrel!!!!)
