Whilst there are areas with great nurses, paramedics& doctors working in police custody oversight standards are highly variable. FFLM set standards but often not enforced. Sadly there's reluctance to recognize as a speciality.

It's illegal to practice medicine unless you are a Doctor.There are no short cuts to safe medical practice.
You can train into a complimentary role with its own scope of practice-Nurse,Physio,Pharmacist etc-but go to medical school if you want to practice medicine
