Jude Bellingham in a recent interview about what lead to the fight between him and Valentin Barco after the England loss to Argentina in the World Cup semi finals
“After the match he walked straight to me and called me a black monkey while laughing,” Bellingham said “I’ve taken a lot of insults from the Argentines that day. The usual stuff, the taunts, the pushing, the gamesmanship. You expect that in a World Cup semi-final. But that is where I draw the line.”
Bellingham added….
“Racism from the Argentines are not talked about enough,” he continued. “It gets brushed under the carpet or laughed off as ‘passion.’ It’s not passion. It’s racism. And they have to be suspended.
A Scotland 🏴 fan at the World Cup sees an 🇮🇱 flag & shouts for a Free Palestine 🇵🇸:
‘I was a nurse in Gaza 🇵🇸’
‘I volunteered’
‘I saw it for myself’
‘It is a genocide’
Refusing to be silenced 👏

Fun fact:
Everyone identifiable in black in this picture is Canadian.
Richie Laryea: born in Toronto
Ismaël Koné: moved to Canada at 7, raised in Montreal
Derek Cornelius: born in Ajax, ON
Stephen Eustaquio: born in Leamington, ON
acting like this is breaking news is disturbing btw, DECADES of “reconciliation” (barely any work done by the gov) and indigenous voices have BEEN saying this and their stories. Canada was built on genocide
This is utterly abhorrent. Just two days ago, I attended a town hall with hundreds of local residents who strongly oppose the takeover of the Toronto Islands and the expansion of Billy Bishop Airport. @fordnation does not give a shit about local democracy!
CTV: What if [a windfall profits tax on big oil] deflates them?
Avi Lewis: Tell the family where 1 in 4 Canadians is skipping a meal .. to feed their kids, that an industry making $90B in profits this year can’t afford to pay a little bit more. I’m sorry I just don’t accept it.
