Sometimes just sticky notes and have students stick them to the board or door before a transition (usually nameless) or creating questions for students to answer or draw #formativechat
A3 I use different instruction strategies depending on the lesson/project in class-I love creating intro assessments to gauge students knowledge, check-ins during the activities, & exit tickets at the end of class with the end of activity assessments & reflections #FormativeChat
@RANESIAEDWARDS A3
I like to start by asking students what they know to help them start making connections
Middle thumbs up, down, or middle or having stop lights pictures on desk
End clearest and muddiest point (verbalize, draw, write, etc.)

I think it is always helpful to include students because it gives them control over their learning and if they are creating ideas they are more likely to comply #formativechat
A2 I find creating learning expectations together w/ students early in the year is always a beneficial approach, we work together to define specific, clear, & fair expectations-It’s the 1st step in creating a classroom environment that is #collaborative & positive! #FormativeChat
A1: Time to adjust on your end...get some feedback from them...maybe it some tweaking on your end...ask some reflective questions... how's my teaching? Are students connected to the topic? #formativechat
@RANESIAEDWARDS A1 As a recent graduate this is something that is tricky for me. Sometimes I think things go well and then I get blank stares. The best thing I do is go all the back to the beginning and try it a different way #formativechat
@RitaWirtz @HarveyAlvy1@ShiftParadigm@tomwhitby @sgthomas1973 I think that this is a great idea. As a young teacher, I always want to learn more and this would help a lot. Pairing a general and special ed teacher would be beneficial #edchat
@tomwhitby I student taught last spring and we had a four day week. This helped a lot as we had time for meetings and to plan instruction. I think this is something that should continue #edchat
@HarveyAlvy1 I have noticed that teachers are losing their prep time now because of the teacher shortage. A 4 day week or even a half day one day could help with this #edchat
