@BrentRo09039778@BrentRo09039778 Hi Brent, Thanks for the feedback. It's nice to hear from someone currently using Remind101 within the classroom and hearing that the response is well-received and has been efficient for both parties. #tfe620w19
@FitzDoyle@FitzDoyle Hi Erin, We also use synergy at out school. I like using this for whole group emails which keeps addresses confidential, or for individualized emails. I personally don't use the phone option on this, so Remind 101 is my next communication mission! #tfe620w19
@l29wills HI @l29wills,
I also use our grading portal to communicate with parents. It is nice to just click the student and have a communication button pop up. I noticed you chose Remind 101 for your tool. I did, too. This seems like an efficient communication system! #tfe620w19
My favorite communication tool, though it is not listed, is the class website. All of the information can be in one place. As far as immediate communication or reminders, Remind101 would be my favorite tool so far that seems to be realistic for my 2nd grade classroom. #tfe620w19
My (current) main source of general communication is still a paper newsletter. In order to convenience more parents, I have considered sending as an attachment to make it electronic. However, Remind101 is ready to go for the next big reminder! #tfe620w19
@BrentRo09039778@BrentRo09039778 Brent, I like your idea of having students create their game. This would bring high interest and engagement. I also like the option of modifying an existing game. I plan on having this be an option within the classroom, as well. #TFE620W19
@l29wills @l29wills Linda, I'm also interested in learning more to incorporate personalized learning strategies. I think this is something, though it sounds new, that we have all been doing and just not identifying as personalized learning. #TFE620W19
My main plan for implementation is through technology. Technology can aid in tying the two together & benefiting all students no matter their background, pace, level, etc. Technology can act as the "link" between the student, teacher, and even parents. #TFE620W19
As I have not intentionally used "personalized learning," a few barriers I can foresee would be organization, presentation to students, & management with the various programs being used. I look forward to getting suggestions and learning more. #TFE620W19
After reading, I realized that differentiation is what the students need, in what format, and what "level." Personalized learning is more along the lines of how & when. Personalized learning hits the students' learning styles, love language & learning progression.#TFE620W19
@BrentRo09039778 Hi @BrentRo09039778,
I agree! A huge consideration before implementing a new tool is being able to navigate through the site/app from the administrator's version, as well as the student version in order to trouble shoot situations as they arise. Good point!
@l29wills Hi @l29wills ,
I have never considered the "ask question" feature being used as a KWL. This is a great idea. I like how quick this would be. I can imagine students would be engaged throughout this assignment and provide them with another tool in their own tech toolbox! @TFE630w19
@FitzDoyle Hi @FitzDoyle.
Both of your considerations are the same ones I share. I am limited with resources and don't always have time to try out or teach the possibilities effectively. #TFE620w19
The technology that I have implemented is mainly google docs & various apps that students can go at their own pace & help each other when they get stuck. I would like to use technology for a student self-assessment tool. This would be nice so they can update as needed. #TFE620W19
I don't have much experience integrating technology within the classroom. I do use technology (6 chromebooks and iPads when they are working/available) but only vary the program/app. We are not 1:1 so implementing something classwide is difficult. #TFE620W19
@Michelle_Gram1@Michelle_Gram1 how cool! Thanks for sharing! I used skype to have virtual reading buddies with my 5th graders. I've been wanting to start up again with my second graders, but struggle with finding another class. #TFE600w19@MGCollegeMAT @TFE600
Thanks to @FitzDoyle I am now following @ScienceNews. As she mentioned, this is a great way to stay up to date on science current events. I could use the information to transition into a whole group reading activity or a warm-up. @TFE600w19 #TFE600@MGCollegeMAT
