This comparison between two polar‑opposite figures was necessary to illustrate the very different strands within the Amhara elite. The prince’s moral compass and sense of responsibility stand in stark contrast to Zemedeneh’s record. zemedeneh public priorities have consistently centered on personal advancement, even during periods when Amhara communities faced severe atrocities.
Zemedeneh has shown unwavering commitment to any initiative that benefits him financially, yet there is no comparable record of him speaking out against the mass violence inflicted on Amhara people. His involvement in efforts to broker the sale of major national assets such as CBE and EAL raises serious concerns about whose interests he is truly serving. These actions suggest a willingness to facilitate the transfer of Ethiopian sovereign wealth while positioning himself and his family to profit.
In all the years he has been a public figure, I have never seen or heard him acknowledge, let alone condemn, the crimes committed against Amhara communities. That silence speaks volumes.
Women with intelligence,& courage are underrepresented in the struggle. We should protect those who are. When @AbiyAhmedAli ‘s police abused Genet Asmamaw & threw her to jail for no other reason than being an Amhara woman of courage, we’re all insulted.Let’s fight for her freedom!
