Finished. It makes me so upset that Perez and Wolfman’s narrative worked for so long. That people spent years talking about the actions of a rape victim lashing out at the world as a result of her situation as if she was a monster simply because she wasn’t the perfect victim.

A. She’s not irredeemably evil, as shown by the fact that she’s gone through redemption in the comics

B. The manner in which she’s displayed to be irredeemable is muddled with rape culture rhetoric, making wolfman’s intent with her incredibly problematic.

@purgeking1234 The narrative intent was to portray her as a complete and total monster but it doesn't work that way in terms of how the story unfolds.

Wolfman wanted us to believe that Tara was such an incredible actor that all of the genuine doubt she showed was fake, even though she's 16.

For those of you that haven’t read it, this is what Christopher Priest had to say about Slade and Terra. He never retconned it, he simply said that he didn’t want Slade to be the punchline of pedo jokes.

@Genghistwelve I’m not “ficcing it in”, I’m going off of books that were written later (and not by misogynist rape apologists). Fun of you to post Deathstroke 2016 when the whole point of that story is that Deathstroke was responsible for a lot of what Tara was as a character.
