"Canada have to be careful they don't go 3-0 down like Liverpool at Istanbul, which obviously I wasn't in the squad for even though Rafa told me I was"
This whole World Cup, for 8 years, has been about “we’re going to have Pulisic and McKennie and Adams in their prime” and for the first 15 minutes they’re absolutely running this game. This was the vision.
The second half wasn’t great, but this game will forever be in USMNT lore. Eight years of pressure, two full cycles, the ‘golden generation’, a new manager, so many high expectations. And our team absolutely lived up to the hype on night one.

They have more eyes on them tonight than ever before, and what they’ve produced may well inspire generations.
Eight years ago today, I discovered for the first time what it was to grieve someone I never knew. It felt like Bourdain spoke a language that I not only understood but connected with deeply. I think I’ll miss him forever.
Arne Slot deserves immense gratitude for delivering a Premier League title, and even more so, for the care and grace he showed while guiding the club through the grief of losing Diogo Jota.
But Liverpool have made the right decision to let him go. Conditions have changed, what they need now is not the same as when he was appointed, and there wasn’t evidence that he could fix the problems nor handle the next phase.
