Social media is a good tool for those who want to speak out and tell people what they have witnessed or what they have been through, and they can do so anonymously to protect themselves from threats. #Lesson10
What is going on in Lebanon is really sad to hear. Women constantly being abused in the streets, all hours of the day. It’s really horrible. What makes matter worse, is that the police are not qualified to handle a lot of crimes. #Lesson10
@samantha_teti Online because it’s more convenient. I had some classes where I just had to come in to hand in my assignment. I find that really annoying, especially when we can just submit it online.
I don’t think that keeping close tabs on students’ internet use at school is an invasion of privacy, it can be invasive, but then again with all these school shootings in the news and the bullying, it can end up saving people’s lives. #Lesson9
@LorenzoConU They are for sure, but if you want to know what they can do to “your” posts after you upload them it’s a good idea to try to read them. There’s probably videos on YouTube about them, that you can watch and get informed.
Even though the terms of service are really long, we should at least skim through it, so we have a slight idea of what they are going to be doing with our posts and pictures. #Lesson9
I agree with the speakers, when they are talking about people being very dependent on our phones that we look like zombies. I’ve seen many people walk and text without looking up and walking into other people or signs on the sidewalk. #Lesson7
I think that the most important difference as to why some social media projects are more successful than other ones is the amount of people that are using it, and that have access to it. #Lesson6
