🚨 MANIPUR HOSTAGE CRISIS

Families of the 14 detained villagers, 13 from Taphou Kuki and 1 from Hengbung, have issued a heartbreaking plea for their immediate and safe release. Calling them innocent civilians with no role in the conflict, the families say every passing hour brings unbearable fear, trauma and suffering. Their cry rises above politics, a desperate appeal from mothers, wives and children simply wanting their loved ones home alive.

Manipur: This video is too personal for me. I could not help but break down in tears watching this little boy- barely 5 years old, crying “Papa… Papa…Papa....” again and again, unaware that his father - Thangminlen Chongloi - had been taken hostage by the NSCN-IM militants.
That innocent voice, desperately searching for his father, is something no human being with a conscience can watch without feeling shattered inside. No child should ever have to experience such fear, confusion and pain.
Behind every abduction is not just a headline or a statistic — there are broken families, sleepless mothers, terrified children and wounds that may never heal. Seeing this child cry for his father is a painful reminder of the human cost of this violence.

Kuki Church leaders en route to Kangpokpi from Churachandpur district after attending Church Assembly were waylaid by suspected ZUF-K group members this morning at Zero Point/Saheibung Peak, situated between Kotlen and Kotzim village in Kangpokpi district. Revd. V. Sitlhou, former General Secretary, Manipur Baptist Convention and current President of the Thadou Baptist Association, and two other Pastors were killed at the spot. The status of other Pastors and two drivers remains unknown. Such unprovoked aggression on civilians and Church leaders is condemned in a strongest term.

A wave of grief swept through #Manipur's #Kangpokpi on May 13 night as the mortal remains of three slain church leaders were brought to the District Hospital morgue, drawing thousands of mourners from across the #Kuki-Zo community.

The arrival of the bodies triggered large gatherings of community members, church leaders, civil society organisations and residents, who assembled to pay tribute to the deceased amid prayers, hymns and condolence gatherings. The #killings of the three church leaders have sparked widespread shock and anger across Kuki-Zo inhabited areas in Manipur.

India: Three Baptist pastors were ambushed and assassinated yesterday in Manipur by unknown assailants.

Rev. Vumthang Sitlhou, Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum and Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou were returning home after a Baptist assembly on May 12 when the evil unfolded.

Five other religious workers were also injured.

The Christian Emergency Alliance condemns this atrocious crime – those responsible must be brought to justice.

Pray that the injured would be healed and the families of the deceased comforted by the Spirit.

May our loving Father draw goodness out of this dark act.
