Just been to see #BlindedByTheLightMovie - loved it. Thank you @sarfrazmanzoor Particularly amazed that I could recite the clip of the @davidhepworth interview - that’s how much I must of watched it when I was 15!
My latest new ‘toy’ - had a notice board swapped for a whiteboard at the back of my room, to create a revision board for my found GCSE groups. I change it every few weeks to a range of topics they’ve had problems with when revising. Makes my room brighter too - bonus 👍🏼
@missradders You’re tweet about handshakes was spot on. I would have been that child that would have hated the thought of a handshake at the door (still would!) but wouldn’t have refused would just have dreaded walking into the room each day.
@Arithmaticks@missradders@PixiMaths@TeacherTapp PE is over represented on SLT in our school too - My (prejudiced) theories 1. PE teachers are often seen as strong on behaviour (easier in PE than in a maths classroom?) 2. PE teachers have more time to write applications - less stress/accountability/marking (sorry PE 😁)
@Arithmaticks@ballyzero MFL can sometimes fit well with maths when talking CPD or whole school policies - the things that work for English/humanities often don’t fit well with MFL and maths. Maths is a language in many ways that students are learning from scratch.
Here he is again, Mr Nick "Evidence based education" Gibb and his promotion of grammar schools. I just do not understand why this man is treated as a serious expert in anything to do with evidence in education when he just tells lies about grammar schools. It is embarrassing.
