Advisory Services @PalletShelter former District Director for @Nikki4Oakland & Co-Pres for @sfwpc. Also - writer, dog mom & political junkie. Views are my own.
One of the most toxic ideas in politics: You shouldn’t criticize your own side because it helps the other side.
That’s how a party devolves into a mess that demands compliance instead of excellence. If you can’t ever criticize, then you can’t fix things that are broken.
Thank you to the offices of @SenatorCantwell, @rep_stevewomack, @RepStricklandWA, @TXRandy14, and @RepCloudTX for the time and focus on these important issues! These challenges require collaboration and fresh thinking! We look forward to working together!
It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.
While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.
And they’re right.
Public libraries are pretty radical at their core…a place you can frequent as long as you want, to gain free information and share communal products? Incredible.
Yesss more of this please!! This would be a game changer, especially for transit dependent folks and hospitality workers. We need more late evening trains + higher frequency/lower waiting times. BART drives our economy, let’s support the workers who keep our cities thriving!
As part of BART's budget process, we're considering (finally!) improving Saturday service and Friday evening service. This was not included in initial budget proposal, and I appreciate staff working over past two months on plans for improvement, at my request.

Don’t walk…RUN! Get out and VOTE 🗳 between now and June 7th for @MaliaCohen for State Controller!! As her former Campaign Manager, I can testify Malia is the best candidate in this race. A vote for her is a win for California! #GoinWithCohen#CAStateController
There are millions of men whose lives would have been much worse without abortion. Men who wouldn't have found their big loves, wouldn't have their kids, wouldn't have been as successful, wouldn't have taken big risks. Many of them don't think about it. Some don't even know it.
Andrew Wilhoite, who is accused of killing his cancer-stricken wife as she was seeking a divorce, won his Indiana GOP primary this week from jail and will be on the November ballot — if he has not been convicted. https://t.co/l3SUHGw8x3
My abortion saved my life. It allowed me to have another child, pursue a life of public service & realize my personal and professional dreams. Most importantly it was MY DECISION. That shouldn't be a privilege.
Let's trust people to make important decisions FOR THEMSELVES!
Congress must pass legislation that codifies Roe v. Wade as the law of the land in this country NOW. And if there aren’t 60 votes in the Senate to do it, and there are not, we must end the filibuster to pass it with 50 votes.
Joined @LibbySchaaf, @OaklandFireCA & the Mobile Assistance Community Responders of Oakland (MACRO) to highlight federal funding headed to community-based intervention programs. This approach helps lessen the burden on emergency responders while serving community members in need.
I’d prefer for @CaWomensCaucus to take an actual position & action on misconduct than pander to us about their values in denim.
The caucus has done nothing & stayed silent about the issues of the Workplace Conduct Unit: https://t.co/AV2nwCZTPs
This is a slap in the face to all those who have reported abuse in the #CALeg
There is absolutely no excuse for the silence from @SenToniAtkins about well-documented complaints of unchecked sexual violence in the Legislature.
