@DanielLoftusSF@taylormaccraith They didn't have a referendum in East Germany- they had an election where far more than 50% voted for pro unity parties which clearly indicated an overwhelming majority in favour of joining the West.
@DanielLoftusSF@taylormaccraith Different scenario. Governments only serve 5 years at a time. A decision to join up with another state, become independent or leave the EU is a monumental decision that can't be easily reversed hence why I think it needs a higher treshold.
@taylormaccraith@DanielLoftusSF 50% of the electorate is a very reasonable target for any Irish unity campaign to seek and if it can't reach that it shows that support isn't very strong.
@DanielLoftusSF It should have been the format for the Brexit referendum and also any future Scottish referendum. Brexit would not have won were such a stipulation in place.
Can all the self appointed moral gate keepers who want to cancel any sporting contact with Israel provide a handy list of all the other countries they don't us want to play?
Or is it only Israel?
@RickyTheGuido Because Palestine refused to accept the State created for them and said they would only accept a State that included the state of Israel, whereas Israel were happy with what they were offered.
Celtic fans love IRA terrorists, love Hamas terrorists, laugh at kids that died at a football match, sing about dead rangers staff and players, sing about Lee Rigby murder.
Robbie Keane worked in Israel for a year and that’s what they find appalling 🤦🏻♂️
Mental 😂
I see the @wereontheditch lads are getting their knickers in a twist because someone is daring to do the kind of reporting they should be doing.
As for EU gas imports, they are in decline but obviously not fast enough. You can blame Merkel for that.

@KeithMillsD7@sinnfeinireland I think it's a reasonable request that no party acting alone should be allowed to bring down an executive or stop one being formed. Obviously it's rank hypocrisy coming from SF given their record
I mean what on earth are you talking about @BillyKelleherEU? How can you, in your position as MEP from one of our governing parties, so brazenly lie like this?
Not only is the destruction of Israel a dominant ideology in Ireland’s academic, NGO, and media class…it is also not uncommon in the political sphere as well. In addition to his screeching about ‘globalising the intifada’ on the streets of Dublin, Richard Boyd Barrett openly and explicitly proclaimed that Israel didn’t have a right to exist in the Oireachtas!
An utterly shameless lie that is wholly beneath the office you hold. If you had any integrity you would amend your statement.
