This has been clarified already for those of you who may be behind. The cumulative total is still the same, nothing has changed, Kembe east wasn't computed twice.
ECZ has also apologised for mistakenly reading it twice, they read Kembe East instead of Kembe West.

Kasonde Mwenda has a valid grievance.

His main grievance is that the Kembe East constituency results (approx. 20,070 votes) have been called and computed twice.

He demands that the ECZ Chairperson (Madam Zaloumis) and her team return immediately to address and correct the issue, stating they will not leave until it is resolved.

He frames the demand as being in the interest of democracy and the country.

… and he is right! These people are running a circus!

If you’re still banking on some dramatic Tonse comeback, you're literally being delusional, you may need to start managing expectations now. 😅
If we're being honest, Tonse alliance has always looked more like a marriage of convenience than a united political project. Many of its leaders were brought together less by shared vision than by a common desire to remove UPND from power.

If the results continue this way, which they will, don’t be surprised if the alliance starts unravelling almost immediately after the election. Some of these people barely look politically compatible as it is. 😅😂

I agree. I was simply pointing out their failure to listen to the voices that actually matter when it comes to securing electoral victory. That said, I genuinely love how diverse our National Assembly is shaping up to be, it can only be good for our democracy.

NRPUP strongholds — Eastern, Luapula, Northern & Muchinga:
29/82 announced → 53 left (64.6%)

UPND strongholds — Southern, Western & North-Western:
8/74 announced → 66 left (89.2%)

So yes, keep hope alive😅..but just remember where the larger share of outstanding constituencies is sitting and manage your expectations.

The surge in independent parliamentary candidates emerging victorious only shows how badly the UPND ignored the signals on the ground and, in some cases, prioritised the highest bidder over the people’s preferred candidates. They were warned, they ignored pa ground, now they have themselves to blame. They deserve those losses! They need to listen more to their people on the ground after this election, which they're of course wining 😅.

@Dumisanithole2 The drivers of these trends in results we've seen really leaves much to be desired. Just the thought that people considered a rebrand of a party that destroyed the countries economy to lead again, can not be ignored.
