We have been learning about how the size of our reactions should match the size of our problems. One #kindergarten Ss shared, “If you make a mistake on your picture, you can fix it. It’s a small problem so you don’t need to yell or tear your picture.” #wellbeing#tdsb@TDSB_CYS
@CreativeKindie This is brilliant! I love that they each have their own little book to refer to, share with family, and keep forever. Such a meaningful way to teach and reinforce skills we all need to practise.
We have daily mindfulness sessions in Room 110 & discuss emotions, sensations & self-reg strategies. This CMHW we created a 📖 about feelings & included strategies that help us regulate. We will bring it home 2 share with our families #tdsbcmhw2023#howwedowellness#Kindergarten
We read “The Shape of Home”
by Rashin Kheiriyeh & were inspired by her vibrant illustrations. We talked about where we & our families are from & the shape of home. #kindergarten Ss looked at maps, used sharpies to draw outlines & @Crayola to 🎨. #identity@AllenbyPS_TDSB#tdsb
Our class has been celebrating #EarthDay2023 all week. We started by reading @toddparr’s “The Earth Book” & making the 🌎 with #looseparts. We then painted the background of our #selfportraits with blue & green & chose to #reuse cardboard to make our faces. @AllenbyPS_TDSB#tdsb
This year was filled with incredible people who’ve helped make the world better.
We want to honor them, so without further adieu, here are the first annual Goodable Awards – celebrating the best, happiest, and cutest moments of the year.
We begin with everyone’s favorite Queen.
Here is a short note to share with families that outlines what decodable books are + helpful reading strategies.
It also gives families a few options to access decodables that are free to read at home.

Thank you all for your feedback for the #sor document I created. As a mother to a dyslexic 12 year old, founder of Decoding Dyslexia Quebec & advocate for #dyslexia & #sor I had to create one about dyslexia https://t.co/aWaO2Qi9jI
I’m sharing books about disability leading up to #IDPWD on Nov 3. I read Florence & Leon to Room 203 students this AM - a story of 2 people w disabilities (1 visible, 1 invisible) meeting, sharing their experiences & falling in love. @TDSB_MHWB@tdsb@TDSB_AccessAb@MD_Canada
