@Stayfreshchees3@brittilina Like, idk why I'm still arguing with you, but I am OVER the idea that brand new moms should have to be thinking about "fairness" when the experience of childbirth should be centered on them.
@Stayfreshchees3@brittilina I never said I wanted to wait weeks/months? This whole conversation is about ~fairness~ in who sees a baby, and that framing led to me having a bad start to motherhood. Moms should feel empowered to express their need in a vulnerable time, especially from those who love them.
@Stayfreshchees3@brittilina what is there to gain by pretending its not a major medical event? childbirth was gross, i was gross, there was a lot of blood all around. the problem is there is an expectation that in-laws be invited to the hospital and its hard to set boundaries after All That.
@Stayfreshchees3@brittilina I had perpetually been through 36 hours of active labor, four hours of pushing and an emergency c-section. It is weird that it was expected that people come visit!!! I had just Been Thru It
@smalltown_wife@brittilina sorry to remind you that childbirth is gross????? I had just been through the most traumatic event of my life and then immediately to spend a week making small talk with four boomers while regularly excusing myself to change my own diaper.
@smalltown_wife@brittilina youβre such a cool chill girl we should give you a medal. i however was in pain and overstimulated and exhausted and didnβt want anyone in my house actually.
@MrsMagdaBeard Maybe but I can also tell that the church ladies got my MIL all riled up about how I was going to keep her away from the baby even though I had never suggested it. So it goes both ways
@arcticinstincts Like my dudes it might just be that Chloe Kim, a Korean-American woman, has dominated the sport for a decade and has inspired little girls who see themselves in her to pick up snowboarding. Choi Gaon literally called Chloe her idol after she won gold.
