The New York Times wrote about FiveThirtyEight's archive going offline.
The thing that bums me out the most is thinking about all the teachers I heard from over the years who use our work in their classrooms.
Here's one such note I got when FiveThirtyEight shutdown last year:
ABC News has now taken all FiveThirtyEight articles completely offline. They now redirect to abcnews dot com/politics. A needless erasure of thousands of pages of knowledge.
Ginther wraps his State of the City address after about an hour. For those curious, he walked out on stage earlier to “Happy” by Pharrell.
“The future of Columbus is not something that happens to us. It is something we build together. And it starts now,” he said.
Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther says “the state of our city is strong, but it's also a challenging time in America” and “a consequential moment for Columbus.”
“This is the decade that will determine whether growth divides us or if we pull up another chair.” @10TV
Ginther reiterates call to make Columbus “the nation's capital for girls and women's sports”
“Reporting from ESPN revealed that Columbus is vying to be the home of a new National Women's Soccer League. Neighbors, this is a competition we can win… I passionately support our bid”
Race still too close to call, but JAMES TALARICO says unprecedented Democratic primary voting is “proof that something is happening in Texas”
“Tonight, the people of our state gave this country a little bit of hope. And a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing,” he said.
TRUMP: "This is the kind of corruption that shreds the fabric of a nation... I am officially announcing the war on fraud to be led by our great VP JD Vance"
Says if he finds enough fraud, "We will actually have a balanced budget overnight" - while Rep. Ilhan Omar shakes her head
Mayor Ginther on the ICE shooting: “Here in Columbus, we cannot let this injustice intensify our divisions. I ask our residents to express their hurt and frustrations peacefully.”
He says Columbus Police’s Dialogue Team will be out as residents continue to hold demonstrations
DEWINE ENDORSES RAMASWAMY: “With the election year upon us, I am joining Republicans across Ohio in supporting our dynamic ticket for Governor, led by Vivek Ramaswamy.”

“For my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry. Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family’s life, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.” 💔

...It's always been a debate, not just here in Pataskala, but other municipalities too, as the holidays come around, as to what we could do for holiday celebrations. Stand by, l'll give more information as I receive it." (2/2)
Pataskala Mayor Compton: "While in the past it has been questionable about what we could and could not have on city property to avoid any issues, our law director, in investigating recent case law is hopeful that we can indeed turn this around... (1/2)
The city of Pataskala, Ohio recently denied a petition from local residents to set up a live nativity scene at a holiday-themed farmers market in December. This is blatantly unconstitutional. Denying permits for religious displays on public property because of their content is a First Amendment violation & has a chilling effect on all religious faiths. In recent years, Christianity has been unfairly targeted by secular political leaders; in the future, it could easily be other faiths too. But it’s always wrong, unconstitutional, and un-American. I stand ready to help local residents in my home state who stand up for their constitutional rights.
