Mitch McConnell says $2,000 checks are "socialism for the rich." Ha!
Here are the tax rebate checks corporations received from Trump's tax plan:
Amazon: $129 million
Delta: $187 million
Chevron: $181 million
GM: $104 million
IBM: $342 million
That's socialism for the rich!
All of a sudden, Mitch McConnell is "worried" about giving a $2,000 check to someone who "doesn't need it."
That's funny. He had no problem giving a $560 million tax break to Sheldon Adelson who is worth $34.3 billion. Total hypocrisy! Let the Senate vote on $2,000 now, Mitch!
In 2016, when Trump won PA, MI, and WI by a handful of votes, the election system worked just great. Now that he's losing, it's a "fraud" and they're "stealing the election." This is how demagogues destroy faith in democracy and move us toward authoritarianism. Count every vote!
Heartbreaking! Our dear @KBZeese Kevin Zeese passed away suddenly this morning. Kevin was a brilliant writer, organizer, strategist and visionary. Wherever there was injustice, Kevin was there, with his partner Margaret @MFlowers8 and @PopResistance. We miss you, brother.
Our society apparently isn't even able to end fossil fuel subsidies - a mind-numbingly obvious thing to do - let alone phase out fossil fuels. This should be deeply disturbing to anyone who isn't a fossil fuel CEO.
Oregon judge: "Without journalists and legal observers, there is only the government's side of the story to explain why a 'riot' was declared and the public streets were 'closed' and whether law enforcement acted properly in effectuating that order." https://t.co/ojv83d44iu
The judge's ruling also prohibits federal officers from seizing photo/video equipment from journalists or legal observers during protests in Portland and prevents the feds from ordering photojournalists to stop taking photos or video.
As part of ruling, federal judge said journalists and legal observers "shall not be required to disperse following the issuance of an order to disperse" during protests in Portland.
BREAKING: Federal judge grants temporary restraining order prohibiting federal officers from arresting journalists or legal observers during Portland protests, unless crime has been committed.
On June 20th, a heat wave baking Verkhoyansk, Siberia peaked at 38C/100+F—the highest temperature ever recorded in the Arctic—“In a world without climate change this anomaly would be a 1-in-100,000-year event. Thanks to climate change, that year is now” https://t.co/NgBpcnL8J0
"Less than lethal"? What a joke. These weapons are fracturing people's skulls, destroying their eyeballs, and harming their lungs.
Enough. We must ban the use of rubber bullets, tear gas and pepper spray on protesters across the country. https://t.co/glYh47tTnE
@ClimateNovelist Oh no...you are the first person I know that has it and I’m sorry to hear that but I take comfort in knowing you’re doing everything you can to take care of you and not spread it to anyone else. I can imagine the mental strain though for sure.
