@washingtonpost So, if I have this right, the party of law and order as well as family values are hindered in their quest to delegitimize an investigation into people who assaulted cops because they're a bunch of creepy perverts?
- Killing people is bad
- 82 year olds who can’t speak probably should not run for reelection.
- Game show hosts who instigated a violent coup shouldn’t be president.
These views have proven surprisingly unpopular in 2024. Trying to listen and learn.
We need a Manhattan project to stop the media phenomenon of “The Democratic Party is responsible for everything user based_stalin_1932 says on Twitter while the Republican Party is barely responsible for the things Donald Trump himself says”
There were 24 states that voted at least D+9 in the 2008 presidential election.
Democrats had 59 Senate seats after this.
Two yeas later they had 53 seats.
Four years after that they had 46.
There is definitely an R bias in the Senate, but things change faster than you think.
Just a reminder that #Trump is the logical endpoint of the @GOP and @FoxNews' actions in the 21st Century. There's a reason @StephenAtHome coined the term "truthiness" in 2005.

@RadioFreeTom These would be the same people who threw tantrums like children when asked to put a mask on in a store to save grandma in couple of years ago?
Here is what I will say to everyone now: Please, be kind to each other. Do not drown the energy we need to fight in battles against each other. Whoever was right or wrong does not matter. We need to strengthen, not weaken, our coalition.
There will be no riots, there will be no insurrections. There will only be millions and millions of Americans who quietly say "I thought my country was better than this."
If present trends continue, this Trump victory will swamp all the micro-explanations. Shapiro as VP wouldn't have changed this. Keeping Arab-Americans in Michigan wouldn't have changed this. It's all the big stuff -- defeat in Afghanistan, a porous border, inflation, and (yes, this really matters) Biden's refusal to acknowledge reality and step aside in time for Democrats to have a real primary.
