It seems our party can use some wisdom heading into midterms. Some food for thought.

First of all, no word from Bernie tonight. None. At least Sen. Warren had the decency to publicly admit her mistake and say it's time to clean up the mess in aisle 9.

There's been a whole lot of media attention given the far left flank of our party. The media LOVES an inter-party controversy. It's great for clicks. It's boring for them when the MAGA infighting is the only storyline.

Some reality. Political scientist Larry Sabato, the longtime expert, put it best- of the 205-230 House seats that Democrats will hold after midterms, 5 to 10 will be DSA candidates. This is a trickle. He called out CNN (and other media) on CNN for drumming up a controversy within our party, and giving this so much attention.

On the national map, please be smart people! What works in deep blue NYC House and Mayor seats, is NOT going to work in purple state and purple districts that we need to win.

I will give you an example. Michigan is a purple state. I will tell you some common sense - if we run a far left candidate, we will lose. Hear that again, we will lose that Senate seat.

It is suddenly en vogue that Israel is evil. AIPAC is responsible for all evils. It's group think. I am disgusted at how many have blindly piled on to this anti-semitic tinged storyline - and so any candidate that supported or supports our longtime ally is suddenly toxic.Maybe that works in NYC where 95% of voters are Democrats. It will not work in Michigan or purple states. It would not even work 10 miles north or east of NYC.

I want you all to start thinking strategically, because we cannot take another 2 years of Trump without checks and balances. Please be smart, and question your assumptions. I will have more to say on this matter, because frankly we need it! Change ONLY comes when we control the House and Senate.
