$20,000 to two authors of OA books & $30,000 to publishers for future OA books. “OA books allow us to imagine a world of diverse ideas and inclusive public discourse…at a time when books…on those very topics are being banned,” @AlondraNelson46#openaccess
“We are excited to offer such a significant #openaccess prize, especially in the humanities and interpretive social sciences, whose insights are of interest to so many people around the world,” said ACLS President @Joyhumanist. https://t.co/5voGKmu3s5

@ALA_ACRL friends and colleagues, please consider taking a few minutes to contact your House rep. I stand with @ALALibrary and our public and school library colleagues in defending intellectual freedom.
The House of Representatives this week votes on dangerous legislation that could bolster book-banning nationwide.
We need to take action and stand against censorship.
Join us - call your Rep & urge them to protect the freedom to read and vote NO on HR5: https://t.co/5tYDz6DXmi

@JoshBolick Big hug to you, Josh. I empathize and it truly does suck. My Dad finally succumbed to years of alcohol addiction one year ago this Friday. And I think about that every damn day, too. 💕
Incredibly honored and humbled to be elected ACRL Vice-President/President-Elect. I couldn't have done it without the support and encouragement from my family, friends, and most importantly, my partner in all things, Jennifer. Looking forward to the work ahead!
Erin L. Ellis, Associate Dean of Research and Learning Services at Indiana University, has been elected ACRL Vice-President/President-Elect. Ellis will become president-elect in July 2021 and assume the presidency in July 2022 for a one-year term.
